Successfully performing a procedure for the first time...
Netflix and let me point out every inaccurate medical depiction in the show without you getting annoyed with me
one of the many things I super love about Deadpool is that they treat negasonic teenage warhead like a teenager, sure she has awesome as fuck superpowers but she doesn’t have any sort of romantic hints, she isn’t irresponsible with her powers, she has a guardian with her when she does her (awesome) dangerous shit, she is most definitly not treated like a child, but she is also not treated like an adult, she has a responsible guardian with her when necessary who even tries to feed her protein bars, I think that hollywood tends to forget that there is an in between stage, that teenagers do exist and need to be represented as something other than unrealistically mature or unrealistically immature
Reblog this if you're a fire, EMS, police, dispatcher, medical, or 911 operator blog.
I want to follow as many people in this awesome field as I can!

5 EMS Phrases Translated
It should be no surprise that medical jargon can be confusing to the general public, but EMS jargon isn’t quite the same.
Instead of using fancy words, we use code. Consider it our version of sugarcoating. Scratch that, it’s more like dumping an entire container of chocolate syrup on the piece of human waste that we’re about to feed you.
EMS jargon is our way of telling you what’s about to happen without you wanting to cause physical harm to us. Here are my top 5 phrases that, unless you’re having a true medical emergency, will most likely hear at some point when you call an ambulance.
1) “We can’t give you medical advice, but…”
There is absolutely, 100%, cross my heart and hope to die a fiery death if I’m wrong, no reason for you to go the emergency room by ambulance. We are trying to get you to make a grown-up decision without being upfront with you. We’re only doing this because we fear the mythical force of a thousand malpractice attorneys that will show up in the night and stab a giant hole right through the center of our paramedic cards if we actually tell the truth.
2) “If anything gets worse, don’t hesitate to call us back”
We already made patient contact, so we aren’t up for call. If you call back, the other crew is going to take you to hospital while we rest peacefully in our comfy beds back at the station.
