reverdie (n): an old French poetic genre, which celebrates the arrival of spring. Literally, it means "re-greening". Often the poet will encounter Spring.

In another life, perhaps Griffin Callenreese has just one-tenth of a point less of a GPA. Perhaps he doesn't get the scholarship he hoped for, and enlists in the military to avoid loans instead. Perhaps he finds himself overseas in a hell of sandstorms and bullets, where one of his own so-called brothers-in-arms completely and utterly destroys his mind. Perhaps there is no one left to save poor little Aslan Jade, and his life spirals into a greater tragedy than either of them could ever have imagined. This is not that life. In this life, he is within reach when Aslan needs saving. In this life, two brothers stick together. In this life, they carve out their own definitions of "family" and "love" and "happy endings". In this life, perhaps they'll even find those happy endings, too.

here’s my piece for @yoinauticalzine!! this was an absolute joy to make, even with the IRL stuff that made it really hard to finish. I’m super grateful for how lovely everyone was, and I’m so very proud to have been part of this project.
