Life Update

Who’s The Crowd For? || Stubby & Arabella
Arabella laughed softly, it was a book shop after all, he seemed to be all over the place in both word and actions. Scanning the rows of shelves, while inquiring about her shopping habits. It was cute in a way and Arabella half wished she could be so distracted from the on-goings in her own life.
“They are lovely, aren’t they?.” She sighed in agreement as she slid the book in her hands back onto its place on the shelf. “I’m so impulsive in book shops.” she confessed, stroking the spine of the book she had just replaced. “For example, I had picked this one up, but do I really need it? Certainly my budget tells me I don’t.” She gave an amused half laugh.
“We only live once, they say,” he said gently, smiling at her. “I didn’t come in for anything specific but I know I’ll definitely be leaving with more than one book.”
Stubby ran his fingers through his hair again, a bit of a nervous habit of his, always fussing. He smiled, hands fiddling more as he stood and talked with her. He didn’t usually get this much down time, or time with regular people anymore. He craved a relationship (intimate or otherwise) with someone who wasn’t only interested in him for his fame. It was nearly impossible to find these days.

Arabella chuckled softly at his comment. There was a tenderness in how he held the book and Arabella admired his sensitivity that often seemed to be lack in men so freshly out of Hogwarts. The action made her miss the library back in her family’s home, it had been almost a decade since she had last set foot in the warm and comforting room.
“If it were autobiographical I would agree with you. However, this is his documented travels as told by the pony he would ride.” Arabella was giggling through her entire description, remembering the entertaining nights when her father read the book out lout to her. “I think you will enjoy it.”
“Oh, well that is actually quite a good idea for a read. Thank you, I think I might purchase that one,” he said with a grin, peering around the bookshop to place where it might be located. Fiction, clearly. Where was the fiction?
Stubby brushed his long locks back from his forehead with his fingers, smiling at her, “Were you buying anything specific today or just enjoying the shop? I love the smell of books.”
*heavy sigh*
