Imma just do the story behind everything.
So the gold color is for 2 reasons. They were actually your average Gardevoir and Gallade at one point.
The first reason is due to their bond with their trainer. You see the golden armor dude whose wedding them? (2nd picture). That's their trainer. He was once human, but I'm not going into him in this post. Anyway, their extremely strong bond is what part of their golden color, and where the armor comes from in their battle bond forms.
The other reason pulls from a spin off on Pokemon. Pokken tournament. You know how there's Shadow Mewtwo? Well he's like that because he absorbed the shadow synergy stone. So with Melody and Vyse, in the story they take half of the light synergy stone (also in the story it's not as small and weak as it is). Th
That is what directly affects their heart-crystals though. Shadow Mewtwo gets a gold-ish crystal shooting out from his shoulder, so when there's already a crystal, it just effects the pre-existing one instead of making a new one.
With the battle bonds specifically, that's when they start mutating a bit due to the extreme amount of power. (Arceus's specifically) The crystal starts ripping outta vyse's arms, as well as some through his head to bolster his crown, and his chest spike re-grows. Melody grows another chest spike, as well as having the other 2 grow in size, we don't see it, but they are also ripped through her skin under the armor (Melody is the more sane one in her battle bond form, which is why it mutates less)

Happy Valentines Day! to the negative 2 ppl who give a shit, you might notice that I didn't do a shiny version this time....
The extra edits I did to the Gardevoir and Gallade took me 2 days to do, meaning I'd first have to basically redo half of the background, THEN add the shiny colors to every pixel. MANUALLY (as the bucket tool is busted), and then re-do all the edits to the background again, and THEN those 2's specific edits.
The shiny Gardevoir and Gallade from the "shiny-verse" also did that, I'm just SO not drawing it this time.
