out   here   ,   it   was   their   territory   .   they   knew   they   way   around   ,   knew   who   stood   on   which   side   ,   knew   where   to   go   ,   where   to   hide   ,   where   to   find   resources   .   they   knew   ,   because   it   was   their   home   .   so   ,   when   ocean   gaze   meets   her   face   not   too   far   away   ,   captain   finds   warmth   rushing   into   his   cheeks   .   friends   .   or   more   .   perhaps   .   once   .   for   a   few   seconds   .   

he   quickly   looks   down   once   the   gloves   have   come   off   .   perhaps   not   the   best   appearance   –   hair   spiky   because   he'd   worn   the   helmet   ,   suit   dirtied   with   the   blood   of   foreign   creatures   ,   cheeks   rosy   ...   but   that   one   not   because   of   the   fight   .   it   might   be   his   only   chance   to   set   things   right   ,   considering   they   barely   stepped   foot   on   the   same   planet   .   so   ,   regardless   of   nerves   brewing   within   him   ,   steve   carries   himself   over   to   her   .   "   hey   ...   thanks   for   the   back-up   .   that   got   a   little   ...   intense   out   there   .   i'm   glad   you   were   there   .   you   and   the   others   ,   of   course   .   " @empantis

as  much  as  the  group  was  thinking  about  bargaining  for  some  reward,  mantis  insisted  on  going  on  with  the  mission,  no  matter  the  cost. after  all,  she  liked  steve... and  maybe  that  feeling  wasn't  as  quiet  as  she  was  thinking  it  was,  as  everyone  had  exchanged  a  glance  at  each  other  before  making  their  way  towards  where  the  captain  was  located.

so,  here  they  were. sitting  by  one  another  on  the  ship,  mantis  watching  him  as  he  gets  himself  more comfortable. everyone  was  out  doing  their  respective  task,  but  mantis  wanted  to  make  sure  that  the  avenger  was  alright. it  wasn't  a  tough  mission with  their  combined  forces,  but  it  was  still  enough  to  give  them  a  few  scrapes.
