One of my favorite things about my mom is that she comes to see me in every country that I spend over a month in. When I was in Chile last year she came to see me, she’s always happy to wander and get lost in any city so long as we’re together. We have a tradition where we go to a local theater and watch whatever film they have showing in the local language without subtitles and we always find ice cream afterwards. Sometimes I feel like I’m harsh with her, I wish to always be better and kinder.

Everything is low stakes, nothing is embarrassing, listen closely not in a try hard way, ask questions when they come to you, be so fully yourself. Whatever that means to you. Be a person who is maximizing your own personal possibilities. Then it’s like, how could people not love you at every stage of your journey, right???

it’s also okay to have fun friends. You can literally have fun with anyone if you set your pretenses aside for a minute. I don’t really dislike anyone lately, I like everyone I meet. But that doesn’t mean I want them in my house, or knowing my personal business.
