me having overwhelming negative emotions: starts crying

At some point in time, I used to have to leave for work at 4.30am. I don’t have many fears, but there was uneasiness, particularly fueled by living in the city. I stood on my own for the first day, waiting for my bus. I felt someone sneaking up on me and I turned around immediately with lungs and fists ready, but all it turned out to be was an angel. He approached me gently, sniffed my hand clearly looking for food in it, couldn’t find any. He then decided to just play around and boy did we play around. When my bus arrived, he did not try to join me on it, just let me be. Day two, I was ready with a sandwich. We were going to share it and solidify this bond. I did not expect him to bring a friend and I was not surprised she was as wonderfully loving and playful as him. They shared my sandwich while I ate my apple, and then they proceeded to run around me with tails wagging so hard they almost fell off. We made eye contact and we bonded, and then I was off to work. This went on for a month. My two angels show up, sometimes with friends, and other times alone. Whenever a strange man or woman passes us, we all fall silent. We walk with them with our eyes until they are out of sight, and then we go back to being ourselves.

I remember the last day I took that bus. I brought 3 sandwiches with me and I remember wanting to cry. The entire crowd was waiting for me, and they greeted me like a long-lost love. I remember wanting to put them all in a car and to run back home. I thought of my mom and how she would have to tolerate us - she gave birth to me, and she loves four-legged angels - it all made sense. And then I remember crying. And I vividly remember how they comforted me. A man came up to check on me and how they growled at him. They surrounded me till the very last minute, and I remember them walking away without begging for the food that was right there in my hand. I left the food and I said goodbye, and when I got on the bus they ran back to their park, tails wagging and playfulness at 100%.
