Slytherin, graduated 12 yrs ago, was charitably known as the only snake that never seemed to shed her skin, daughter of the third year DADA professor, Amadeus, and eventually became the lithe Seeker on the Slytherin Quidditch team.
Emmeline is an incredibly tough nut to crack - she grew up with the typical overzealous Pureblood parents, who used rules and purist diatribe to get whatever they wanted her to do done.
She has a younger brother - he’s just about the only reason that she hasn’t completely lost her mind and entirely abandoned the cause her parents believe in.
She’s recently betrothed to Amycus Carrow - her parents are exceedingly proud of the match, but Emmeline’s caught between stoking the fire and running for the hills. Oh, and his sister, Alecto.
She’s an Unspeakable - which means she’s well versed in keeping lots of secrets from the people around her. Nobody knows what she does - nobody even knows that she works in the Brain Room, although she does tell them that she has a desk job in the Ministry.
She joined the Order around a year after she graduated - there were a lot of others at that first meeting, but she was soon tasked with infiltrating the Death Eaters, and as the most equipped Occulumens and Legilimens specialist any of them knew, was uniquely qualified for the job.
She only really talks to Dumbledore in reference to her role in the Order - anyone else is either near completely in the dark or someone that she feels she can’t trust with the most treacherous parts of herself.
Her dad, Amadeus, took the Mark when he first joined the precursor group to the Death Eaters, the Knights of Walpurgis. She took the mark when she was 19. It felt like the road paved to hell, but she had no choice.
She’s rich and she knows it - there are times when she flaunts it, because she has to, but she prefers to live a relatively quiet life.
Emmeline keeps her Dark Mark on her left forearm hidden from most people. The only people she’s ever been completely bare around in this aspect are her father, mother, brother, Amycus and Alecto.
Most of her time is spent pretending she’s the purist bitch everyone believes her to be.
Around a select few, though, she softens. Her voice drops and the thinly veiled Mexicana-Italian accent peeks through. It’s a dizzying change to witness.
She always has a bottle of wine on her. It’s usually concealed and shrunk down in her pocket, but it’s always there.
She’s a casual workaholic, but also spends a lot of her time in Knockturn Alley or with the Blacks or Carrows, to keep up appearances.
Has an affinity for Dark Magic; her father owns a library full of the rarest books on the subject.
