“Hey, I told you I take it seriously,” he pointed to her with raised eyebrows, “But I do also take my O.W.Ls serious,” he admitted, shrugging. “Do you have any free days at all?” 

‘ You told me, but I don’t see the first one- just the latter.’ Emma smiled sweetly towards the other as she spoke. She loved rubbing it in. ‘ Of course I do. They are in reserve for me when I turn sixty and I won’t be able to move anymore.’ ’

Regulus’ smiled faded a bit when she said it was snowing hard; he really, really did not like snow. Or the cold. And it had definitely nothing to with being buried one time too many in the snow as a child. “You’re really enjoying this, aren’t you?” he sighed, shaking his head. 

' Me? Enjoying the missery of my team mates who don’t take Quidditch seriously?’ Emma faked-gasped, her eyes widening in almost shock as she shook her head, but grinned. ‘ Never. Just on my free days. Today it ain’t one.’

“I think you’re probably on your seventh chance, to be honest. But fine, since you’re begging, I’ll forgive you,” Regulus shrugged and spun around as she turned him, the entrance hall closing in on them. “At least tell me it’s not raining or snowing right now.” 

That’s when Emma threw the other a grin- the utter annoyance she felt earlier forgotten as she took the lead again; her shoulders giving him a small shrug. ‘ It was snowing really hard the last time I was outside.’ her grin widened.’ Fun!’

“You mean to say you’d rather have someone other than me? Who?” he challenged, feigning hurt. He enjoyed teasing her about Quidditch, as he knew how much it meant to her, and it was just really fun to see her try to refrain herself from lashing out and going on one of her famous ‘Quidditch-rants’. 

‘ I wouldn’t rather have someone than you. But, if you won’t give me another chance, I’ll have someone else. You’re gonna find out if it happenes.’ She threw him another deadly glance and placed her hands on his shoulders, forcing him to turn around and walk normally.

“I said sorry?” he replied sheepishly, “If you want to risk losing, sure, forget to put me on the field,” he said, throwing the bag over his shoulder and walking towards her. “I’m really sorry, okay?” he said again, “I promise I won’t make a habit of forgetting, you know I’m dedicated to this. I want to win the cup just as badly as you do, and since we don’t have all day, we should probably get going now,” he said, turning around and walking backwards with a grin while looking at her. 

Emma threw him a deadly  glance. Was he implying he was the only Slytherin Seeker in the castle? ‘ Hey- there were five other candidates for the spot and some were really good- so don’t let it get to your head.’ She quickly informed the other. Emma had to take a big breath of air not to make a scene in the library as she followed the other outside of the library. When they were out, she gave him another deadly glance but didn’t comment.

“Desmond, actually.” Murphy bit her lip, slowly getting annoyed. Usually avoiding conflict alright, but Emma was pushing her limits. However, she told herself to take a deep breath, count to ten, and be the better person. Save it for the next game. But then a little devil took control of her. “As I told you, I’m _really sorry I almost hit you and ruined your chill day. You would have been properly chilled if I hadn’t missed, but I did. Please forgive me. I promise it won’t happen again.”

‘ Who cares?’ Emma wasn’t good with names- she knew the names of those who were head of the quidditch teams and those who pissed her off. If you weren’t her friend or in her team, you were most likely to be unknown by her. ‘ You bet it won’t.’ Emma took a big breath and shook her head. ‘ Fine, fine-- apologized acceptated or whatever.’

“ Actually I don’t think we are friends I would never associate myself with the likes of you Vanity.” Emmeline rolled her eyes. “ Have fun.”

‘ Thank you.’ Emma flashed the other a irritated smile before she bumped shoulders with her as she passed by.

Regulus looked at Emma for a few seconds before it dawned on him. “Ahh, first practice. Yeah, I forgot,” he stood up and started to gather the books in a mild hurry, putting the books carefully into his bag. “I’m ready, I’ve got my Quidditch gear with me,” he said, giving her half-smile as reassurance. “You got a plan to win, then?” 

‘ forgot.’ she echoed his words...’ maybe i’ll forget to put you on the field on the day of the game as well.’she  threw him a small, irritated smile as she straigthened herself. she needed dedication. she wanted someone who really put their heart into this. ‘ of course i do, are you going to seat around here or are you gonna help me put it in action, little black? we don’t have the entire days of practice, you know that.’

“Doesn’t make it any less frustrating,” he grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. Quidditch was the most popular sport in the wizarding world, and yet his professors didn’t even try to adjust to their training program, or cut some slack when big games were coming up. “If we end up last I’ll eat my left arm. It’s not happening. — I think Mur- I can get some help with some of them, I’ll be at practice, don’t worry.”

‘ Get over it, life is always frustrating.’ she shrugged as she spoke, maybe she was being a little cold, but he should get used to it. Him or Lucinda have high chances of getting her role next year- most likely Lucinda in her head; so they need to train. ‘ Listen to me,’ she leaned closer, frowning again.’ you’ll do no shenningas on the field, you hear me? Outside of it, I don’t care what you do. But, on it you’re just doing your job. Alright?’

Lucinda’s eyebrows raised in surprise when she heard Emma giving her another chance. That was certainly very un-Emma like. “I was just saying, I think I have a brilliant idea to prank those Gryffindors over there.” Lucinda nodded towards a group of students dressed in red and gold, one of which she recognized as one of their Quidditch team’s newest members. “But I can’t do it alone.”

Emma followed the other’s gaze and almost smiled at the sight. Lucinda knew she wasn’t one to agree with shanningas on the Quidditch field, but those outside of it? Oh, well, she might just have too much fun. ‘ I’m in.’ the words come quickly as she looks back at the other. ‘ What’s your idea?’

– ; Regulus was sitting in the corner of the library, nose deep in four books. It was only the very start of the second semester, but he knew if he wanted to keep up his outstanding-only record of grades when the O.W.Ls started he had to start as early as possible. But he’d been buried in these books for more than three hours now without a break and he was getting tired. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, but stopped when he felt someone standing there, watching him. “Can I help you?” 

emma looked at him and waited, there were ten more minutes until the quidditch practice but the other seemed to not have that in mind; she leaned casually on one of the chairs and shrugged her shoulder. ‘ i don’t know, i want to win the quidditch cup this year. do you think you can help me out with that? you seem pretty clueless to me.’

Emmeline rolled her eyes. “ If you’re going flying I wouldn’t if i were you. A lot of prefect go the the astronomy tower and might see you out.” She shrugged. “ But that is just mt friendly advice.

‘ Aww, you think we’re friends! How cute of you! But, we’re not, nameless person. We’re nowhere near friends and your advice doesn’t concern me.’

Murphy always had some kind of tragic talent for annoying people she probably shouldn’t annoy. Never intentionally or anything, it just happened. And she usually didn’t realize it herself either. At least not before it was too late. She didn’t really register the annoyance in Emma’s voice now either, not realizing that she should probably just have backed off already. ”Hey! Seriously?! That wasn’t necessary, was it?!” She regained her balance, at least having the wits not to move any closer to her. “I told you I’m sorry, and I’m actually trying to help you! Or at least to make it up to you!”

‘ Touching me isn’t helping me!’ the older Slytherin spat back, her hands up in the air as she did so.’ I wanted to have a chill day for fuck’s sake, can you just lay low and let me live my life peacfully?’ Emma threw the other a deadly glance. ‘ You’re bloody annoying- what’s your name again? Vance? Evans- neverthless you sound like a idiot.’

“Whoa whoa whoa, I surrender.” Lucinda held her hands up in front of her, her eyes widened in surprise at Emma’s reaction. “I was just saying– actually you know what? It doesn’t matter, probably wouldn’t work anyway.”

Emma sighed- and did something she didn’t usually do: gave another chance as she straigthened herself. ‘ Repeat yourself, please.’ she offered. ‘ Repeat your idea.’

Ryan scowled. He strongly disliked it when people called him darling when he wasn’t in a particularly good mood. “Do you not think I know all these things? I don’t worry too much about the homework and projects either, but it’s like they’ve forgotten that we have an important quidditch game coming up, and I can’t sit around all night watching the stars with silly girls who don’t want to finish the assignment because it’s "romantic”. “

‘ Since when professor care about our games?’ Emma was growing annoyed with this conversation. She had been here seven years and he’d be six years, he should know just as much as her how annoying the professors are. ‘ Complaining won’t help you, just skim through the projects and write something to get a grade on and go back to practice. We won’t be last in place this year.’
