We have officially bought our van; a 2003 Ford Econoline. Finding the van was not an easy task, but choosing which type of van was even harder. Evan and I debated long and hard about which van we should buy, we talked about camper vans, tow behind, minivan, truck, hitch hike, the list goes on. We choose the Ford Econoline E-150 for a few reasons
Size - we liked the idea of the van being able to fit into a parking spot, this means if we ever needed to stay in a parking lot for a night, or do some city driving we will have an easier time. The size of the van also allowed us to configure our home to have optimal storage and living space.
Year / millage: We bought a 2003 van with just over 200,000km. Ev and I settled on this van because the year and Km's were around what we were looking for. What really sold us though, was the fact that the van was in good condition.
Price: The price was certainly right when it came to our van. It was way under our budget and our trusty mechanic gave it the thumbs up! Ev and I decided that buying an Econoline with a lower budget and outfitting it to fit our needs made more sense for us. Evan is a crafty guy but we are not mechanics so we decided we needed a more realiable van.
In the end choose the van YOU want. People are amazing but at times give too much advice, too many ideas, too many things to ' watch out for'; so go with your gut, choose the van you know you will love and more importantly one you will be proud to call HOME.
