“It was only the second story. Hardly a fatal fall.”

“but like, how did you do that, you know, without dying?”

Scott took a deep breath and sank into his seat, leaning back, ready to listen to her, hoping this wouldn’t be something ridiculous that would require him giving her a hug. He didn’t do hugs. “That sounds horrible. He is an absolute terrible person as no kid should ever be treated like that. I may be mean on occasion, but I’d never hurt a child.” Scott knew he wasn’t always the nicest man, but he did respect how a child should be treated. Shaking his head, he clasped his hands together. “No, you’re not mad. Nightmares are a part of life. I used to have them as a kid. You need to relax before you sleep, clear your mind. Might help.”

Emma was touched that Scott was listening to her so attentively, this man was terrifying but he sure knew how to listen. “It was horrible” Emma smiled “You’re not the type of person I thought you were, I mean that in the nicest way possible. I appreciate you listening to me” Emma hugged Scott, she knew he didn’t like it but she did it anyway. “ I know you’re going to hate me for this but this is me thanking you” 

“I’m a growing boy. Scarfing down two pies is easy.”

“Oh, well I’m doing this as a sort of…request. It’s gonna be a dragon. It’s…for one of the children at the orphanage.”

“Is that so?” Melissa chuckled. “I understand that. I get drowned in my work often that when I do get a break, I never seem to know what to do with it.”

“Right? I did go for a walk earlier and it felt so freeing to be out of the office”

“That always seems to cause a dilemma, doesn’t it? Anything I can do to help?”

“It’s awful I tell you, I love writing but it just doesn’t give me enough. A new job would be really nice, know anyone who is hiring?”

A light laugh slipped though Elsa’s lips as she nodded, “Yes, I do. Not very well though, I have only met him a few times when he delivered a few items to me.” Each and every moment with him, he’d always smiled. The same went for Emma. She really cared about the girl and found herself really wanting to make a friend. The whole concept of a friend was still unfamiliar to her, but she liked it. “I would like to try more combinations some day and perhaps learn something new to eat with it. I do not know very much about food and I think I would like to.”

“Eric is awesome, I miss him, Haven’t seen him in a while”. Emma felt so happy to see that Elsa was finally coming out of her shell. It’s been a while since Emma had a real friend to talk to. “We should sneak into the kitchen sometime and experiment with food” Emma giggled 

“Goodness, I haven’t been on a picnic in ages! I should soon, now that I’m on a break from my classes.”

“We should totally do that at some point, that i if you want to. I really enjoy talking to you!”

Scott looked down at the girl as she spoke, hoping this dream wasn’t something ridiculous, but as she continued, he found himself nodding slowly, realizing he didn’t want to have that dream either. “That sounds terrible. Do you know who it was? On occasion, dreams are about real life experiences we have or will have in the future.” 

Emma sat next to Scott and took a moment “He looked important, like some sort of court member but not directly connected to the Queen” her hands started to get sweaty “ The man just looked evil and he looked at the poor child like he was a pest. I just can’t, for the life of me, comprehend why this man was so awful” She was relieved to see that this man actually paid attention to what she was saying. “Thank you for not dismissing me as a mad woman. I appreciate that”

“I didn’t think I’d see you here. Are you Christmas shopping, too?”

“In general it’s been much busier in the park than usual! With the beautiful changing weather, everyone seems to enjoy the fresh air.”

 “You’re right, I’ve seen a lot of people gathering there for picnics and they look so cute and fun!”

“I love the park. I love taking long walks there.”

“That sounds like a lot of fun! I should probably do that sometime. I like to go for walks but I usually just walk around the city not the park.

Vivian looked around to make sure they were talking to her before answering, “I- uhh sure…” why someone would like her company was beyond her, but she could related to the nightmare thing. “How bad was it? … sorry you don’t have to tell me… I’m not good at this…” she admitted. 

Emma sat down and wrapped her arms around her knees “I had a dream that this horrible man had a small child locked inside a room. No reason for him to do that but he simply kept telling the kid tat he deserved it because of how we was born. Every time I tried to speak up it felt like was mute. I just kept hearing this child crying and screaming for help. It all felt too real.”
