Pessimism
Island fever: two or three deli day lunches in a row drops staff morale to five times below average. Two pie day lunches in a week reduces the mood into an even further depressive anger #thepoweroflunch It's okay but there's a system: "excuse me" I say, "we cant put the croissants through the toaster." I point to the sign clearly reading 'DO NOT put croissants through the toaster'. "It's just that it's set to toast bread and croissants burn up." She looks up at me like I'm not a resort staff member, but a confused alien speaking a language she doesn't recognise. "I set the heat to 'light' so they don't burn." Her face indicates to me that the conversation is over and her family are above the rules. #whateverlady It's okay but there's a system: oh you want a bowl of hot chips at lunch time? The deep fryer's not on sorry and it would take a long, long time to heat up. It's alright you say. You'll wait forever and sit right here at this table. G. R. E. A. ALWAYS TAKING AWAY OUR FREEDOMS ONE SMALL IRRITATION AT A TIME!! THIS REGIME HAS GONE TOO FAR. I WANT TO BE ALLOWED PIZZA PASSES IN THE BAR. I WANT TO WALK THROUGH THE KITCHEN TO WORK. I WANT AN OMELETTE. AND I WANT TO WEAR MY FUCKING SOCKS!!!!" #callingformutany Island fever: tide times for our day off. High tides- 7 am and 7:30 pm. Have time to go to the beach. No water at the beach. #goddamnit
