This photo reinforces the identity of the anti-capitalist facet of the "I like ____ before it was cool" phrase. Snow White is saying she liked apples before steve job. Referencing her story plot of Snow White's obsession over apples and how she ate an apple and fell under the witches spell. While also stating how saturated America is by Steve Jobs and the Apple product- almost everyone you see on the el has an iPhone (literally look around you next time you take the train, its crazy). These "Before it was cool" punchlines have been a trend in hipster-world because it is poking fun at the idea that hipsters are not into trends, they are into things because they liked it as an individual not as a society. Hipsters have a habit of liking alternatively produced goods, "vintage" items, or items that are not owned/run by/produced by the corporate world. Hipsters preferred items when it is not saturate by mainstream media and society.
