This quote from this Jack Anderson poem is a good representation about what the poem is all about. It demonstrates that replacing nature which is essential for human life with synthetic and plastic things in order to gain profit is destroying New Jersey. Other than make a spencer few rich, the plastification of New Jersey is causing materialism that might at first make people happy but overall leads to a decreased quality of life.
They use words like âcasualtiesâ to speak of murder.

I think this is a very accurate depiction of American government being the "they" and not looking at the people dying in battle as actual people rather than a number to add to an international game of who has the most/ least amount of casualties

I found this line to stand out very much when reading this poem. The people who decide who fight and who die are not the people actually fighting and dying, rather the ones who sit comfortably with guards where they cannot be harmed and decide the fate of others.
