Y School Heroes S2 Rewritten: Prologue
Several months after the defeat of the N-Kind, Jinpei Jiba and his friends are ready to start the new school year.. unknowing of a new threat.
------
The moon adorned the night, the stars accompanying it. A hooded figure was running through the streets, panting. He looked around for a brief moment, before immediately making another turn. He continued to run, until he looked up at a Y shaped school building, slowing down his pace until he came to a complete stop. He caught his breath, taking his hood off and looked at the building in front of him.
Upon removing his hood, his lime green hair showed, as it was in the shape of cat ears, a green leaf shaped ahoge in between them. He had slightly pointed ears, and he looked serious, rolling up his sleeve to reveal an intricate watch. He turned the top part around to show off a hologram of the same building he is seeing, looking up at it once again. The green-haired boy looked determined.
“This must be the place… Y Academy… Home of the greatest cat hero in the galaxy… Jinpei Jiba.”
-The Next Morning-
The sun rose on the male dormitory of Y Academy, as the rays of light softly hit a boy’s eyes. The boy mumbled and tossed around a little in his sleep, only to immediately fall off from his bed, hitting the floor. “Ow..!!!” he yelped in pain, groaning shortly after. He soon sat up, rubbing his red cat-like hair and his eyes, as he yawned. “Man… Some way to wake up in the morning…” he mumbled. He got up and went to his closet, changing out of his pajamas and putting on his new school uniform. It was the usual dark blue uniform with yellow buttons and hints of red here and there, except now he could open it up, dawning a red hoodie underneath to represent his enrollment in YSP and now being a Second-Year at the academy.
In the corner of his messy room, cat-like creatures were seen sleeping. A small yellow cat with goggles and holding a cork gun on her tail was sleeping on top of a large red cat with a white scarf, slowly awakening from the boy getting ready for school. “Mmmgh morning… I heard a loud thud.. You good, Jinpei?” The yellow cat spoke to him, still half awake. Jinpei in turn smirked with confidence, “Morning, Goromi, Bakera! I’m okay, took a little tumble but I’m all prepped for the day!”. A blue anthropomorphic cat wearing a blue hoodie popped up in a blue light close to Goromi and Bakera, looking at Jinpei. “This is the start of your new semester as a Second-Year, correct?” the blue cat asked.
Jinpei nodded. “Yup! The break was nice and all, but I’m happy to be back to hang out with everyone!” He grabbed his school bag, his UR Watch, put on his shoes and opened the door, looking at his partners before leaving. “I’ll be back, guys!” He waved and went on his way, Bluepon and Goromi waved in return, as Bakera yawned.
Jinpei went out of the dormitory building, seeing his two best friends, Sandayu Koma and Mataro Tamada, also sporting their new Second-Year Uniforms. “Yo, Koma! Mataro!” He shouted out to them and ran over to the two. “Good Morning, Jinpei!” “G’ Morning, Jinpei!” The others waved, as the trio began to make their way to the school, conversing amongst each other.
“I still can't believe we’re already Second-Year students! It's exciting!” Mataro said to the two, with Koma nodding in agreement. “Time sure flies.. Just a couple months ago, we defeated Mazera and his forces for good and everything's been peaceful since.” Koma replied. Jinpei put his hands behind his head as he spoke, “Well, there have been a couple of Onryo here and there, but we take care of them easily! We’ll make sure no bad guys show up and cause trouble!” Mataro and Koma nodded in reply. “With that said… let’s make this year a ‘Super Duper YOLO Swag Year!’” Jinpei spoke in a rapper-like tone and winked, as his friends sweatdropped at that.
It wasn't long until they arrived at the main entrance of the academy, seeing some familiar faces and also new ones as well. At the front of the entrance, was an old friend and trusted companion, Ranto Kirigakure. He still wore his red school band on his sleeve indicating his status as student council president, along with his usual school uniform. His black hair was still wavy for the most part, but he now had a couple of green streaks on his hair.
Ranto was ordering the new first years on where to go for orientation and telling the returning students to go to their home room, only to be interrupted by Jinpei running over to him and yelling, “Oi, Kaichou!! Goood morning!!” Ranto looked a bit annoyed, but he sighed as he looked over to the enthusiastic cat haired boy, with his friends following shortly after him.
“Good morning, Jiba..” Ranto said with Jinpei immediately replying, “Woaah, Nice bangs! That makes you look cool!” “Thanks. Listen Jiba, I don't have time to talk. I'm still busy telling the new students where to go. You all should go to your new home room.” Ranto spoke and immediately went back to what he was doing, to the disappointment of Jinpei. “Ranto’s still super responsible, huh?” Mataro said, with Koma nodding. The trio then waved farewell to Ranto and went to their new home room class, and just like that, classes began.
After the Orientation Ceremony for the new students, Ranto was asked to come to the principal's office of Kinya Daiouji, opening the door. “You wanted to speak with me, Principal Daiouji?” The large bearded man nodded, “Yes, Ranto.. you can have a seat if you'd like.” Ranto sat down on a chair, ready to listen. “Orientation went very well and I am grateful for your cooperation, Ranto.” Kinya said, as a look of appreciation was given. “It's no trouble at all, it is my job as the student council president for these sort of events to go smoothly.” Ranto simply replied.
Kinya smiled but soon had a face of worry. “As for the reason I wanted to speak with you, I’ve noticed something very odd. During my speech at orientation, I noticed several students that have not shown up, leaving their seats empty. I didn't take too much into account at first, absences happen, until I took a look at our attendance for today.” He showed his computer monitor to Ranto, showing a list of absences. Ranto gasped softly as a number was portrayed, 10,000 students have been reported absent. “Ten thousand absences..?! We’ve hardly had that number exceed even a thousand..!” Ranto exclaimed.
“I’m growing very concerned by this.. and I want you to investigate what is going on, Ranto. I know this is a lot to ask.. especially considering it’s your last year with us, but please.” Kinya pleaded to him. Ranto, without a second of hesitation, nodded with a determined look on his face. “I'm on it. I’ll make sure whoever's doing this will pay. You can count on it.” Ranto soon left the office, equipping his Alien Watch on his wrist. Kinya looked relieved, as he looked at a photo of his daughter on his desk, as he worriedly spoke, “Oh, Emma… where are you..?”
As Lunch time rolled around, Jinpei, Mataro, and Koma were on their way to the YSP club room. Jinpei looked very chipper as he held a bag full of food, exclaiming “How lucky is it that they had a whole sale of Ebimayo Vermicelli Gyoza Bread?! I can't wait for everyone to have some!” Mataro recalled Jinpei’s usual eating habits and sweatdropped, “Sure.. or it could be that you’ll just devour it all in one sitting.” “So what?! At least I had good intentions to share.” Jinpei pouted.
“Now, now, you two… Let’s not fight.. After all, we haven't seen everyone else from the YSP club yet, so it will be a great time catching up with everyone.” Koma tried to calm them, as the three arrived at the door to the club room. “True! And I’m sure everyone will be happy to have some of the bread I got!” Jinpei said excitedly, as he slid open the door. “Yo, everyone!! I’ve brought…” Jinpei slowly said as his excitement slowed down with each word. “Lunch…?”
There was just one person waiting for them, and it was a girl named Fubuki Himekawa. “Oh, hey guys! About time you all showed up, I’ve been waiting for so long it almost gave me the creeps just being here alone.” Fubuki looked up, as she was working on her rocket boots. “Hey, Fubuki! It's been a while..! Have the others not shown up yet?” Koma asked her, with Fubuki shaking her head. “It’s just been me here. Mera, Kyubi, Chiaki nor Nozu showed up..” Fubuki replied, with the three looking at each other with puzzled looks. “That's weird.. Wonder why they haven't shown up?” Mataro asked, as the three sat down. “Well, wherever they are, they’d better hurry before I eat all of this.” Jinpei said, unwrapping his sandwich and almost about to take a bite.
Until something beeped in his ear, Jinpei was startled by the sound that was coming from his earring that doubled as a communication device, as he touched it. “Yo?” Jinpei answered, with the others looking over as a familiar voice came out from his ear piece. “Jiba! Where are you right now?!” It was the voice of Ranto, and he sounded pretty serious. “Kaichou? I’m at the YSP club room with Koma, Mataro, and Fubuki about to eat lunch. Something up?” Jinpei asked.
“I need you all to do something for me. The Principal tasked me with investigating why many students have been absent today, and I want you all to help me out in scoping the area for any mysterious activity going on. I’ll tell you all more when I get to the club room.” Ranto informed them and immediately ended the call, which just left confusion to the group. “What was that all about? Have there been students absent?” Fubuki asked. “Well, whatever is going on, we should at least help him out!” Jinpei sprung up from his seat, eating his sandwich. “Jinpei? Where are you going?!” Mataro shouted.
“What does it look like I'm doing? I’m helping out Kaichou!” Jinpei finished his sandwich quickly and left the room. Jinpei looked around the area for anything suspicious, as he walked the halls. “Hmm.. let's see.. Why would a bunch of students be absent? Maybe it's a prank? Or some sort of huge surprise birthday party?” Jinpei questioned and thought to himself, not looking where he was going at all. “Whatever it is, I’ll make sure to get to the bottom of it!!” Jinpei said determinedly, only to bump into someone. “WAH!!” He exclaimed, as he landed on the floor with his butt.
“Ah, I'm terribly sorry.. I was distracted.” The person he bumped into spoke. Jinpei rubbed his behind, “Ow… No, it’s my fault.. I shoulda watched where I was going..” Jinpei looked up to see who he bumped into. It was a boy with lime green hair.. almost in the same hairstyle as his. The boy looked surprised in return.. as they both looked at each other.
