“what radicalized you” bro EMPATHY
"what radicalized you" well in kindergarten they told me to share things and be nice to people.
good for her
Am I the only one who feels, like, zero emotion when watching Izzy die every time I rewatch ofmd? Just me? Okay.
Actually I have emotion - one called satisfaction. For Ed to hear his abuser admit his abuse, apologise for it, then die - he might have been upset at the time, but he's still deep in it. Most victims can only dream of such a scenario. He still has lots of healing to do but with Izzy out of the way it makes it much easier to have a genuine fresh start, where he's fully free to explore who he is and what he wants.
As for Izzy - he got to speed run the start of a redemption process in a single speech. Good job that man!
Yes, this is a good point! It is ultimately a moment of catharsis for Ed and for us watching. For Izzy too, to finally stop lying to himself about the nature of his and Ed's relationship. And it's not like Ed has rose-tinted glasses on when it comes to him reminiscing about Izzy. He does in fact call him a nightmare or something like that. I do think I would have felt more dissatisfied had Izzy not said anything at all and just died straight up. You know, despite how rushed the whole moment felt overall.

Am I the only one who feels, like, zero emotion when watching Izzy die every time I rewatch ofmd? Just me? Okay.
No, I think this is the common reaction. He's just not an interesting character, and the show just simply wanted us to forget what he did. I just get annoyed he's taking up so much screentime in a finale, with his death scene and his stupid speech, when the season did no work in constructing an arc for him.
Yeah, totally! I've seen people on here point out the fact that they tried to make his death more meaningful and tried to turn him into more than a one note antagonist by giving him all the characteristics and screen time of other more interesting characters. Which is very true.
I'm still miffed for example over the fact that he totally takes over Wee John's whole entrance as Calypso. Forget Izzy's rendition of La Vie En Rose which makes me cringe every time I hear it, I would have killed to see Wee John do some awesome drag performance with song and dance maybe, dude was just getting warmed up. Never mind the fact that Wee John and the rest of the crew are super gracious about it, it still rankles.
His whole arc in season two just rings as very rushed and ooc and false to me. All it apparently took for him to change was for the crew to be nice to him. Nope, I don't buy it. And the fact that they just gloss over him selling them to the English along with the fact it never comes out to the rest of the crew that it was Izzy in fact who created the whole Kraken mess in the first place. Instead they paint him as this poor, helpless victim who's "protecting" the crew from Ed. It's all just really frustrating. I'm of the opinion that he should have just stayed an antagonist. That really was just his purpose from the get go. Ah well.

love the end of the two towers where gandalf looks into the sunset talking bout "yea frodo had to go it alone it was his destiny and there is no changing it he will be ok 😌✨" and aragorn is like "sam went with him btw" and gandalf is like "oh fuck thank god"
is this anything
