and yes i sat through the whole one hour video despite the fact that i literally had no idea wtf she was talking about

but i was curious, so i decided to search the #kissedbythebaddestbidder on instagram

… and the first post i see is this

i felt.. troubled to say the least

(which is weird because i watch a shit tone of porn yet eisuke’s words rly destabilized me for some reason?)

anyways

after 2 years of staying 110% faithful to cod, i think it’s safe to say that i wasn’t used to the… language used in otome games

so what did i do?

i moved on with my life and went back to playing cod for another 6 months LMAO

until one day.. i got kinda bored

so i decided to download the love 365 app, since i kept getting recommendations for love 365 game reviews on youtube

so i did

and i actually held off playing kbtbb for like weeks, because it genuinely did not look entertaining to me

mostly because of the human trafficking aspect

instead i played cutesy games like our private homeroom, bad boys do it better, dreamy days in west tokyo… (which i recommend all of them)

but one day, while i was on the app, i saw the game and thought, “meh, why not, i’ve got leftover coins and nothing to do”

so i bought ota’s main story because he’s an artist so i thought the plot could be interesting

then i read rhion’s then shuichi’s, hikaru’s, baba’s, eisuke’s, luke’s, soryu’s and finally mamoru’s

and the rest is history

EISUKE

so the first time i ever saw him was in that instagram post i mentioned earlier

and i thought he was rly handsome

like actually one of the best looking animated characters i’d ever seen

and i’ll admit, his words kinda made me blush, so i thought he was pretty sexy too

and i still think he’s sexy

BUT GOD HE’S SO ANNOYING SKSKD

i just don’t rly like how he treats mc, especially in the earlier seasons

he’s always pushing her around and he’s rly possessive of her to the point of being kind of controlling

yeah, not my type

but still attractive nonetheless

also i always call him yuusuke by accident lmao

SORYU

honestly the first time i saw him on the love 365 app, i thought he was the best looking love interest in the bunch

i thought his hair was fire

but he didn’t look interesting to me, like at all

(warning: political rant) mostly bc i rly don’t like gang related love stories, i just find them cliche and repetitive, and as someone who’s studying political science, i didn’t know how i felt about people romanticizing an issue which has ruined so many nations and killed so many individuals

which is why his main story was actually one of the last ones i read

however, i must say i don’t regret it

HE’S SUCH A BEAN 🥺🥺

the hype around him is 1000% justifiable

he’s protective, sweet, respectful…

like every story of his i read i fall more and more in love with him

he’s an adorable softie who’s surprisingly rly hot and i’m all here for it

also he somehow keeps getting hotter as i read him more and more

no joke my first thought when i saw him was “huh, he has the same as hikaru asahina from brothers conflict”

tbh i didn’t find him at all attractive

i thought the hitman thing could make an interesting plot but..

i honestly had no interest in ever playing him

however after seeing him in shuichi’s route

my curiosity got the best of me

so i played his story

it was good, but at first, i didn’t rly get his sense of humor, so i wasn’t sure how i felt about him

but then.. i got it

and now i’m totally in love with him LMAO

he actually seems like the kinda guy i’d date irl

he’s caring, protective, funny, sarcastic and adorably innocent

also who doesn’t love a tsundere?

i thought he kind of looked like he could belong in a tim burton movie

there’s just this zombie-like dead vibe to him-

very handsome ghost indeed

very vaguely reminded me of garrett watts

then when i read him, his collarbone fetish concerned me at first

i wasn’t actually weirded out, i mean people can have fetishes for anything, but i was taken aback by how intense his fetish was

i still think he looks like a handsome ghost

here’s my take:

pet play is a part of bdsm, a term used to describe aspects of sex that involve bondage and discipline, dominance and submission and/or sadism and masochism. anyone who knows anything about bdsm knows that trust and consent are critical in bdsm relationships in order to ensure the safety and the wellbeing of every party involved. ota doesn’t have mc’s consent or even her trust, something she makes very clear in his season 1 main story. if ota truly was a dom, someone who was actually into pet play/bdsm and not some predator trying to use bdsm as an excuse to assault women, he would’ve asked her beforehand if she was okay with it, have a verbal/written agreement with her and he would’ve backed off immediately once mc showed hesitation. ota is not a dom and mc is not a sub.

ota has major trust issues. all of the bidders have trust issues but it’s very obvious that ota is the worst of them all. people with trust issues don’t want to get attached to others because they fear betrayal. he probably called mc “koro” and treated her like a dog so that he wouldn’t fall in love with her and so that there would be this distance between them. you can’t exactly form meaningful human connection by constantly treating someone like a dog, unless both of you are into it. people communicate with one another to connect, people help out each other to connect, people touch each other to connect… if someone is constantly shrugging off your attempts at connecting by treating you like a dog, you won’t get very far in the relationship.

dehumanization is a commonly used tactic by abusers to keep their victim from leaving them. as dark as it is, it has to be said. victims of domestic abuse often tell stories of their abusers patronizing them, calling them names, dismissing their concerns/pain, gaslighting them, belittling their accomplishments, basically treating them as though they are incapable of anything, sending the message that they need their abusers, that they are worthless without them. ota obviously never did any of those things, nor is he an abuser (i was only using that as an example), but he did dehumanize mc in another way, by treating her like a dog without her consent. one second, he’d call her “koro” and talked to her as though she was a brainless puppy, and the next he’d be all cute and shit, doing her hair and feeding her. by doing that, he made mc feel bad about herself (which she actually mentions in ota’s season 1), he made her question if she was the one who was ungrateful and stupid, and she even began believing that ota was sweet for taking care of her. abusers dehumanize their victims so that that exact thing happens, the victim starts doubting themselves and eventually becomes dependent on the abuser, thus they don’t leave them. ota probably didn’t want mc to leave him because he didn’t want her to expose the auctions. he knew he couldn’t use fear like the other bidders did, so he decided to ruin her self esteem and make her doubt herself instead.

continuing off of my last point, it’s easier to control people who are dependent on you. ota is almost the same age as mc, so it would’ve been very difficult for him to push her around as much as for example eisuke did because she wouldn’t be as reluctant to stand up to him. but because he treated her like a dog and caused her to doubt herself, he could easily torment her and push her around because her sense of reasoning has already been fucked with.

this is why he eventually stops treating her like a puppy once he’s in love with her and he’s sure that she’s in it for the long run. he wants to get closer to her, something that would be very hard to do if he keeps treating her like a dog 24/7, and he probably doesn’t want to control her anymore either, so he has no need to treat her like a dog. besides, he knows she won’t leave him either way.
