ok so this idea is pretty old too from the times when i was actively working on my fanfic and i was thinking of maxwell betraying the gang and being the reason wilson lost his eye in the fight as if maxwell needed to prove his loyalty to charlie and them he had his own goals by that moment, so he knew he is not really betraying wilson but he needed to stick to the other side to have an advantage and win so he decided that hurting wilson is the cost that he's willing to pay to get his only chance to discover the truth about the constant and save everyone

maxwell obviously overestimates himself with acting nonchalant about this decision because he would be like "um okay wilson won't be happy about being betrayed but victory won't come without a sacrifice so uhh i'll get over it. not a big deal" and at the moment of planning he kinda hoped that everything won't go by the worst case scenario and also he didn't expect that he's gonna care enough even if it will, he just, well, hoped it won't but by the moment of fight things get out of control (classic, lol) and maxwell goes "oh. fuck. i... i actually didn't want this. i actually do care" BUT HE STILL HAVE TO ACT NONCHALANT TO CONVINCE EVERYONE THAT HE'S EVIL

i want it to be a big part in the fanfic actually, the question itself if maxwell is inherently a human or a monster i mean we know he's pathetic gay man but leave that to the canon wilson's gonna feel bad after spending so much time on convincing everyone that maxwell is worth their trust and uniting him with the gang and then being stabbed twice afterwards

now when i'm back to fanfic i'm not sure how fucked up it'll go but i like the idea of forced betrayal and still want to work on that and this scene is stuck in my head

i even created storyboards and short gif (all old) because i literally went insane listening to "the winner takes it all" and thinking "omg IT HITS"
