“Hmm, you thought someone was hurt and it took you that long to fly down from your little morning flight? I’d be better off taking my chances running from danger.”
Kara shrugged, looking away from Alison and crossing her arms over her stomach. “They were important to me at one time,” she said, eyes on the ground, unable to look at her.
Alison shrugged, unphased by the girl’s body language. “Yeah. Well. You’re here now in the present.”
