I wish they'd let Wyll be angry, specifically: angry for himself, not just for other people. I wish they'd let him yell at his dad. I wish they'd let the player tell Wyll that it's okay to love your dad but still feel hurt and betrayed by him. Let the guy vent all that pent up negative emotion for goodness sake. Give him a scene or three where Theo Solomon could flex his voice acting skills.

i do find it kind of sad that when you kill orin all the companions’ responses are basically “she was a soulless monster who needed to be put down like a dog, good riddance.”

when the whole temple of bhaal scene is like. everyone here is in an altered state of euphoric sadism due to divine magic. no one respects their own life, let alone others. orin is the product of incest and everyone in her family has tried to kill her at least once. when you confront her with sarevok’s crimes she turns into a little girl stamping her feet and calling you a liar.

especially in comparison to ketheric and gortash, both of whom CHOSE to become what they are, orin was literally born into it and has never known any other life. re: that living weapon post—they are victims AND their victims are victims.

i wonder if anyone else looks at orin and instead of seeing a monster they just. pity her?

i do enjoy "living weapon" characters but specifically living weapons who did in fact do absolutely horrific things which at least a part of them enjoyed and thought was good and right at the time, and that no amount of not knowing any better or guilt they feel in hindsight will ever make up for. i love living weapons who are "irredeemable", and no it's not their fault that they were made that way or pointed in the directions they were by the hand that wielded them, and yes they are victims, but so were their victims. living weapons who some people will never be able to forgive, but who still wake up every day and try to do better than what's expected of them. a sword that uses its blade to cut wheat to make bread for the people who once lived in fear of its arc falling on their heads.
