The Uncanny Valley
So, I was thinking about the idea of the uncanny valley, and the theory that it's something we evolved to have because of something hunting us that looked human, but wasn't. And I had a thought.
What if the thing that "looked human but wasn't", WAS human. What if...
It was Time Travelers.
Think about it, we already know that humans now are pretty different from humans only a hundred years ago, and that during the time we probably evolved to have this fear (I would say stone age), it was probably a hotspot for time travelers, because who wouldn't want to see the earliest moments of our species? So, what if in fear of time travelers, cavemen learned to identify these annoying little tourists that kind of looked like them, but weren't.
