Ellet Library Teens

Finishing mosaics this afternoon - and they look beautiful! Many thanks to Leona of Don Drumm Studios for taking the time to show us how to create stunning pieces of art! 

Stop by to visit our new chameleon friend and suggest a name for him. Look for more activities involving our new library mascot throughout the summer. 

Sign up to be a designer or model in our second Project Runway event. Designers will have an hour and a half to design an outfit with materials provided by the library. Models will have hair and makeup done and will wear the designers’ outfits for judging.  All participants are invited to take part in our joint runway show with Fairlawn-Bath Branch Project Runway teens on Saturday, June 20 in the auditorium of the Main Library at 1 pm. Register starting June 1 by calling 330.784.2019. Limit of 10 designers and 10 models.

The deadline for our teen writing contest has been extended to the end of June - so get your entries in and take a chance at winning that $20 B&N gift card.  All entries will be printed in our yearly collection, which will be distributed to each participant. 

Fantastic series on display in our teen area today: The Princesses of Westfalin trilogy by Jessica Day George and the Burn for Burn trilogy by Jenny Han and Siobhan Vivian. The first is a middle grade series of fairy tale retellings starring clever and beautiful princesses who must find a way to escape a curse that not only threatens their family, but the very realm. The second is a story of bullying, friendship, and shocking surprises for older high schoolers. How far will these girls go to defend a friendship, exact revenge, and save a life? 

The deadline for our creative writing contest is fast approaching, so get those fingers typing and submit!

Don't forget - our bullying prevention community meeting is tomorrow night at 6.  All are welcome.
