For iteration 1 I explored how I could document movement with a simple photograph. Through experimenting I found I couldn't capture the movement on a simple phone camera and instead used editing in photoshop and rendered imaged to create the notion of movement. I then went back to this iteration after develop my next couple and created a more editorial design piece to be the font cover of my magazine titled ‘Movement’

for iteration two I have futures the idea of movement through exploring different ways of documenting movement. Instead of photography I originally used paint and a large piece of paper, and experimented by documented the movement of my body struggling to get up covered in paint for 3 minutes. This was then further edited by painting the placement where my body touched the paper most. Finally I developed the concept of presenting my finding as a magazine spread to create a more interesting perspective. Using a different way of seeing and editing I created a editorial, using my documenting painting as a dress.

iteration 3 

For iteration 3 I continued on from the documentation of movement from iteration 1 and continues to use photography, however changed my camera to a polaroid in order to create more visually interesting photos of movement. I also looked at the concept of ways of seeing, and explored the idea of how other things looked while ourselves were moving. I decided the best way to document this was through lights. I then edited these photographs into a more editorial, design magazine styled work through repetition.

iteration 4 -  

For iteration 4 I moved on from photography and wanted to push my documentation to drawing. I looked at the hands as my tools and thought about how our body learns to move in different ways depending on which side we prefer to use. From this I did an experiment with my family, looking at the difference between how they write their own names with different hands. I then took this idea and drew two hands, the left one with my left and the right one with my right. I then transferred these into photoshop and found how my different hands worked with a new skill I’m currently learning, colouring in with software. Through editing and erasure I accidentally stumbled upon a beautiful rendering of one hand that I decided to push through into my editorial presentation and created a jewerly advertisement for it.

iteration5 - 

After looking at how my hands moves differently to eachter i wanted to look at how my hands reacted different to other things such as music and it’s rhythm. To experiment with this I chose a song called “Like Lust” ironically by Movement. This produced 4 lovely little water colour painting that I then edited and layered and experimented with until I created something I was happy with that represented the music. To further this I created it into a album cover that can be used as a review in my magazine spread.
