Key Class

I could only be honest, this photograph of, “The Making.” is the only thing in all her works that I consider normal. It’s not because I feel strongly about this image it’s just that it’s the only thing that doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable. For the whole lecture, I couldn’t even look at the screen. Her work is provocative, pornographic, disturbing, insane, and uncomfortable. On the other hand, this photography of the making doesn’t show that. While looking at this photo you just simply think that someone is making a doll head representation of someone. There is a lot involved when making a doll let allow a life-size one. Just with knowing the information of the photograph I just start to think about the talent you need to make a replica of someone. I know that this photo only shows the touch up of the skin but that still involves a lot of work. 

Rob Swainston work is vary complex. My favorite print is, “Who owns the sky.” The huge scale, curving lines, and patterns are what makes the piece interesting. Seeing his work outside the art studio really brings his ideas to life. This piece won’t be connecting the idea of the title if it was printed digitally. The space, order, and form really wrap up his intentions in creating the work.
