âI need someoneâs honest opinion. Should I adopt a cat or a dog?â
"My honest answer would be neither, honestly. Miniature pigs are the way to go for pets, mate.â
maebyhaarstad:
âCrap!â Maeby looked around sheepishly before her hands curled around the entrywayâs handle, âI thought it was a push door.âÂ
Watching the girl for a moment, the boyâs brows knitted together, unsure if he should offer help. âHaving some trouble?â His gaze didnât waver when she finally realized, and a small smirk arose. â--Yeah, I thought for a second it might actually be a push... You went in there with such confidence.â
wtfvan:
âAnyone ever tell you that you kind of look like⌠shit, whatâs that celebrityâs name?â Van furrowed his brows. âGive me a second.â
âA young Leonardo DiCaprio?â Elijah finished for the boy. âYou know... I get it all the time, honestly, but I donât really see it.â

âWhy does everyone always using âsaving livesâ as an argument when I try to say being a doctor is a bad job?â He thought for a moment, âBut I guess in this particular matter it just might overpower a suit.â
âOh, is that considered, like, a bad part of the job? ---I was unaware.â Elijah mused sarcastically. âI mean, before realizing that saving lives is somewhat of a sham, I liked to think it probably overpowered a few things. ---Whatâs so shit about being a doctor?â

She stopped and looked at him as he playfully tried getting away from her, âWho says youâre not artsy, hm?â She listened to him try to give her excuses but she wasnât having any of it, âPlease, Elijah, you look great right now!!!â
âWell, I dunno... I think that was a pretty good point I made---â he trailed off for a moment to laugh â---about me looking like I just rolled out of bed and into the store.â Which he had. âUnless youâre going for an abstract sort of art, then fine, maybe youâre onto something.â He stopped now, turning to look at her again, narrowing his eyes at her, unconvinced. âDo I though?â He asked, gesturing to the obvious wrinkles in the fabric of shirt. âAre you really gonna look me in the eye right now, and lie to me, Scarlett?â

Nearly as soon as the words had left her mouth, Freya wanted to eat them back up again. She could only begin to imagine the victory song that must be playing in Elijahâs head right now. Once again, though she had tried her hardest to come off as cold and calculated as she once was, somehow she still turned into an almost inarticulate mess in Elijahâs presence. Really, she couldnât have come up with something better than âIâm not leaving, so you probably shouldâ? What was wrong with her? Of course, she knew the answer to that. Elijah. Elijah was what was wrong with her. Had been for the last three and a half years. Even when they were apart, she could not deny the way she had been changed by the simple man in front of her. One single person had had the power to not only make her better, but make her want to be better. If her mother could see her nowâ see the weak woman Freya had becomeâ well, Freya didnât want to think about what she might do.Â
Elijahâs biting remarks had been what Freya expected of courseâ maybe even a little tamer than what she expected. Though, as he fell silent, the repeated question hanging between them, the blonde couldnât help but sense the tiniest bit of hesitation. In fact, giving herself some time to think about it, she concluded that Elijah wasnât the type to stand around and wait. No, surely, if he really wanted to be done with her, he would have walked away even before Freyaâs last words had been out of her mouth. He wouldnât be bothering to stand in front of her, seemingly waiting for her to say something. For a moment, Freya was realizing that, no matter how much Elijah fought against it, the ball was in her court now. She felt a fleeting sense of pride. Fleeting because she had no biting retort. She couldnât even bear to narrow her eyes at him, or even make an attempt to call him out on his forced toughness. A heavy sigh leaked off her lips and as her rigid posture eased, Freya began to realize how truly exhausted she was. She shook her head a bit, running a hand through her hair as her eyes flicked to Elijah, then away, down to the ground. âI donât know what I want.â She finally answered. âHavenât you always known that?â
Elijah hadnât noticed how stiffly he had been holding his shoulders until the girl visibly relaxed her own. Not a moment before, he could have easily held the unyielding position for an eternity, if it meant showing less weakness than Freya, but almost as quickly as she eased before his eyes, he began noticing how tense he felt. The broadness of his shoulders, the puffing of his chest, both threatening to collapse back to their usual size, simply to release of the stress he harboured in them. However, he kept his posture in place, allowing himself enough space to peer down at her despite her almost surrendering demeanor.
It was his turn to be confused by her behaviour. Why was it only a moment ago the girl was storming after him, addressing him by his formal name as though saying it somehow lied her claim on him, and suddenly she was deflated? The sound of her seemingly earnest response threw him off more than her punctured stance. He drew his eyes between hers, narrowing them in preparation, despite the fact that her gaze had reached the floor. His initial reaction was to call her on her bluff; his lips even parting slightly to allow something snarky to escape. He didnât trust her. Far too many times, he had fallen for this same game. Far too many times he had trusted her honest voice, and even now he felt its pull. However, he resisted again, and discounted the fact that all of his previous resistances up until this point had failed.
It took a moment for the boy process what her words were saying, as he was trying too hard to concentrate on her tone, trying to spot her lies. He had always known. And it would take reminding him of this to bring about the countless memories he had of believing there was ever a time when he was certain he knew what Freya had wanted, even when she wasnât even sure herself. Upon that thought, the boy considered her call, and the message she had left. While most of his rational mind was urging him away from her; insisting that he avoid getting sucked back into her ridiculous, endless antics, he could also feel a sliver of doubt⌠that she would honestly reach out to him after all this time simply to continue tooling around with him. Had Freya been crazy enough to do that? Was she delusional and ruthless? Had he really been in her presence long enough to start questioning these things? âââDid you know what you wanted when you left me that messageâŚ?â He murmured.
wcnderboii:
âHey, you!â Finn called out to the person who just passed him. âStop right there, you are under arrest.â
Turning his head as quickly as he was addressed; confusion knitted his brows together and he lifted his hands slightly before dropping them back to his side, approaching the officer slowly. âUh, âxcuse me?â
ariistctle:
âI should have jut became a lawyer. Suits look so much better on me than scrubs.â
âI guess in terms of leaving work and swinging by to get a coffee on the way home, sure but I think maybe the ability to save someoneâs life probably overpowers the outfit...â
dearscarlettevans:
âCâmon! I just want to start taking up photography. Let me take a picture of you!!!!â
The boy attempted to keep down his original path, trying his best to ignore the girl despite the obvious amused grin and continuously laughter spilling from his lips. âWhy not try something more artsy, if you wanna get into photography?â He managed through his tittering. âThis isnât my colour,â he explained, pulling at his shirt a bit, âI havenât brushed my hair... youâre trying to humiliate me.â

âSo how bad do you think it is to eat a whole jar of peanut butter in approximately⌠three days?â The redhead wondered out loud, an awkward smile on her face as she finally stopped staring into empty space. Orion had always been a dreamer â a hopeless one, perhaps. Living in fantasy provided by books and films, in an attempt to keep her sanity as she dragged herself through life. Sheâd always been odd, had always been anxious and always been trying. She loved people, yet they terrified her, so she was usually locked away in her apartment, having only her cat as her company. But times like these, she craved contact. Human interaction. So she found herself saying something awkward, as usual. A slight blush appeared on her pale cheeks as she ducked her head, her hands fumbling with the hem of her top. âIâm asking for a friend.â
âHmm, for a friend...â Elijah said, making a note to repeat the words more as a statement than a question. Laughing a bit as he tried to imagine consuming an entire jar of peanut butter by himself at all, let alone in the course of three days, he shook his head. âI mean,â he paused to inhale sharply, trying to give himself enough time to consider his next words carefully, only to break out in a bit of laughter again. âIâm gonna say that may be pretty bad but, you know, no judgement or anything. Maybe donât make a habit of that kinda thing though--- or... tell your friend that habitually eating entire jars of peanut butter in a matter of a few days may not be the best idea.â

Kairan had been working all day. Being surrounded by idiots who obviously knew nothing about politics made him wonder why he ever agreed to move back to LA. At least the people in Washington were competent. That was probably why he found himself drinking at a bar alone. It was kind of pathetic. After a few moments he decided that he needed to at least talk to someone so he didnât feel like a loser. âHey, let me buy you a drink so I can pretend Iâm not considering drowning myself in whisky.âÂ
Turning to notice the man, Elijah smirked slightly, as it seemed the stranger had generally the same plan for his night as Elijah had set out for earlier in the day. âI mean, you can buy me as many drinks as youâd like but something tells me that if youâre already here, youâre probably a few steps past considering...â

Watching him as he dampened the cotton swabs with the alcohol, she knew that the sensation she would be feeling would be nowhere near okay. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she felt her nerves acting up as she anticipated the burning sensation that was coming her way. Shutting her eyes as he hovered over her, Ellana held her breath in an attempt to minimize the pain. However, once she felt the cotton swab press against her wound, she let out a slight groan before clenching her fist tightly. âFuck.â She muttered, finding it hard to stay still, but she still managed to keep her posture. Opening one of her eyes, she peeked up at him to see his current expression. A small smile spread on her lips before she shut her eye again. âIs this painful for you too?â She joked.
The edges of Elijahâs lips tilted down as he continued to dab along her cut. Turning the cotton piece between his fingers, he allowed it to absorb and begin washing away the already dried blood from her brow bone. With such concentration, it took him a moment to realize that her eyes had opened again and had spotted his disfigured expression. He turned his eyes to see her just as her own were closing, and his eyes drifted to her lips at the sight of her smile. A hint of a grin threatened his lips but he suppressed it with a look of confusion; eyebrows knitting together. âI mean, not nearly as painful for me, but definitely not my favourite part of First Aid.â He chuckled lightly, feeling a hint of--- embarrassment?--- that the girl had noticed his reaction before bringing his attention back to his task at hand. It didnât take long for a silence to fill the air around them again, and the boy placed the used cotton swab on the table, returning a fresh one to her wound again, wanting to dry the area before adding the closures.Â

She smiled at the boys niceness. She had only been here for a day and she was already being treated well.  âIm Haleigh,â she shook her head. âSorry, Iâm just so distracted right now,â she said lifting up a box and walking towards her front door. âFollow me! You can just put them anywhere,â she smiled. âThanks again, and your name is?â
âItâs a pleasure, Haleigh.â He said simply, turning his body toward the direction she was previously walking. Turning his head to see her, he shot her a curious smile. âAll the moving finally gettinâ to ya?â He chuckled lightly. âIt tends to happen.â He followed alongside the girl as they made their way to the door. âOh, nameâs Elijah... are you moving from far?â
henry-rawlins:
âOwning up to stuff isnât supposed to be fun, thatâs why you do things that make you feel even better about doing it in the first place,â he chuckled. âYeah? But, at least it makes me feel good about myself.âÂ
âYou know--- thatâs a lot easier said than done... Iâd say especially if you think about that ahead of time and you know... proceed to not do ridiculous, regrettable things that youâre bound to feel like shit about later.â He explained, embellishing slightly, but chuckling as he realized how directly he was referring to most of the decisions made in his life. âAt least... we can only hope now, that you wonât die or anything.â

Once Elijah took a seat beside her, she could tell that the cut was deep. After all, the whole ride she felt like her face was going to fly off. But, since her pain tolerance was pretty up there, she was able to hold it in. Feeling his cool finger against her warm skin, she looked away as he inspected her cut. Once he let go, she looked back at him briefly before turning her attention to the box. âYeah I should.â She said before taking the box in her lap and lifting the lid off. Looking through her bandages, she came across some butterfly closures. Taking them out of the box, she then looked over and took out the rubbing alcohol as well with a cotton swab. Placing the box back on the coffee table, she handed him the bandages and the cotton swab along with the rubbing alcohol. âYou should sterilize it so it doesnât get infected.â She stated and it was clear that she was regretting that she ever said those words. After all, putting alcohol on a deep cut wasnât the greatest feeling.
Pulling his lip between his teeth, Elijah nodded curtly when she instructed that he sterilize the wound. Of course, it wasnât the first time he had tended to any sort of injury, but he felt it unnecessary to express that. Keeping the closures in his lap, he twisted the lid on the rubbing alcohol before dumping some on one of the swabs. He placed the bottle on the table ahead of them before turning back to her. Shifting in his position slightly, he scooted closer to her. After a moment of hesitation, Elijah lifted the cotton swab and hovered over her cut for a moment before placing the fingers of his opposite hand on her chin again, to keep her steady. A slightly grimace lifting to his features as he dabbed the wound lightly.
xhaleighbennetx:
She smiled up at the boy and let out a small laugh, âWhoopsâŚSorry about those toes. I would love some help, actually. That would be lovely, thank you,â she grinned.Â
Maintaining his grin, Elijah shook his head slightly, lifting a shoulder to brush off her apology. âDonât worry about it.â He insisted. âOh, no, yeah... no problem. Whatâs your name?â Peering around briefly, he bent to pick of the first box in sight. âAnd uh--- where are we headed?â
