New pots! I made a small cup and a prep bowl. My throwing skills were a bit rusty on these, so they ended up a little wobbly. I still like them though. The clay body is Babu porcelain. Interior glaze is mirror black with a second layer of ice blue celadon. Outer glaze is a single layer of ice blue celadon.

Here are some shots of my finished Japanese maple leaf mug. There is a lot of room for improvement, but I’m pleased with it.

Here are some pictures that show the process of making a Japanese maple leaf mug in porcelain. This mug is thrown in cone 10 babu porcelain and Japanese maple leaves from my garden are pressed into the clay to leave impressions. After the bisque firing, I painted the leaf impressions with Amaco velvet underglazes and then covered the whole mug with clear glaze. It should be glaze fired by next week. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
