This was my first artfight and I had so much fun! I’ve drawn more in the last month than I have in the last year probably! This post is more for me to keep track of my stats going forward, since I’ll try to do this every year.

Second year of artfight done! My goal was to get 31 attacks in and I’m glad I made it! Got a good head start at the beginning of the month, getting up to a 6 day backlog, lagged around week 3 since life started to catch up to me again, but managed to get the last few in by the end! I got a little more experimental with backgrounds and lighting effects this year but I’m happy with what I learned and got done this month.

Backgrounds: 8 None, 8 Prop, 15 Scene

Defenses: 17, all 7 characters attacked (6 new from last year)

Time Spent (70+ hours!):

Attacks: 58 hours (Average: 1.9 hours/atk)

6 new + 1 redraw: 13.5 hrs

Some things I tried or did differently this year:

Used more references to pose characters a little better.

Did some short term studies with anatomy (hands mostly)

Tried out the flat brush for a painting style on a couple pieces
