It’s stupid, honestly, but as she’s getting mugged a block away from the apartment she’s never in but pays rent for she’s thinking about Natasha. The guy’s hair is really red. Natasha’s hair was so red that Yelena still isn’t sure she didn’t dye it that way. It’s dark out and Yelena can tell this guy’s a ginger, that’s how ginger he is.

“Whatever man, I really don’t care,” she’s saying, and she means it. She tosses her wallet at The Ginger and his friends and puts her hands up in surrender as a formality. “There’s like, twenty bucks in there and a stick of gum. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if a fly came out when you open it like a cartoon.”
