the amount of times hal has to tell barry that “its okay” is not okay. barry, who recently returned, was still going through the motions and dealing with the fact everyone he knew and cared for is dead. it certainly affected him to the point he became an anxious mess consistently throughout this comic. and it doesn’t get better at the end.

I forgot to mention two things about my canon divergent policy(?)

(1) Barry’s parents are alive. They were alive in Silver Age– they were there at his wedding. They were there at his last day in the past before he went to the future. I don’t rp anything out of that canon. I hate how DC kills parents just for emotional plot. Barry already had a ton with Thawne coming in and messing with his life. That’s all he needs for emotional. Seriously whats their deal?

(2) “Repressed” (not a good word choice but okay) Barry in vol3. LISTEN– Lemme call it out because I have to. Barry wouldn’t– lemme rephrase– NEVER WOULD push away his family like he did. He would be scared and afraid because adapting to the life he had before he died would be hard, but he wouldn’t be THAT “repressed”. Instead, he would try to catch up (pun intended) with the family, since he missed so many years of their lives. And Bart? His grandson? Like hes got a lot to say. He never had the time to really talk with them because he kept running in and out of the speed force. 

And dealing with more Crisis because villains have no chill and wtf is up with the team like he had to come out of the speed force to save everyone COUNTLESS times. BC DC REALLY HATES BARRY A LOT.

But apart from that. I rp the rest of the canon… except for relationships. bc some relationships MAKE NO SENSE to me. Especially Patty… when did they?? I’m trying to figure out?? He never had feelings for her in the first place.
