Fast forward a decade or so, and because I remembered watching that as a kid, I decided I wanted to revisit it with my girlfriend at the time, which ended up in us wanting to watch the actual show. I watched every show from Duel Monsters to Vrains with her, but of course that relationship fell through. I already knew the guy that would become the love of my life at that time, but it wouldn't happen for another couple of years.

Now, I'm 28. I'll be 29 this year, and I've gone from long distance dating my boyfriend to living with my fiance, and the fact that if things had happened any differently, if I'd never watched this children's cartoon about card games, if I'd never taken in a dying rat, if I'd never posted about it on my Yugioh blog, I could have missed out on the best and most fulfilling relationship I've ever been in... It's a little funny to think about.

This car's got history. It's seen some shit. People have done straight things in this car. People have done gay things in this car. It's not going to judge you like a fucking Volkswagen would.

Interesting facts: This car's exterior color is gray, but it's interior color is grey. In the owner's manual, oil is listed as "optional." When this car was unveiled at the 1998 Detroit Auto Show, it caused all 2,000 attendees to spontaneously yawn. The resulting abrupt change in air pressure inside the building caused a partial collapse of the roof. Four people died. The event is chronicled in the documentary "Bored to Death: The Story of the 1999 Toyota Corolla"

This car is as practical as a Roth IRA. It's as middle-of-the-road as your grandpa during his last Silver Alert. It's as utilitarian as a member of a church whose scripture is based entirely on water bills.

When I ran the CarFax for this car, I got back a single piece of paper that said, "It's a Corolla. It's fine."

Well, what you may not have known is that Buster Blader became its own archetype, with its own little storyline.

It all starts with Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster, and the dragon whelp he stole from its parent.

He would slowly raise the young beast up as a loyal comrade and friend, but slowly, the poor child would grow more and more vicious, until eventually, it would attack the one who raised it.

Eventually, Buster Whelp would corrupt and grow into the powerful Buster Dragon, and Buster Blader would have to face his own protege.

Though Buster Blader would win, he would not move on from his friend, and the two companions would remain there, until Buster Dragon eventually passed on.

In remembrance of his little Buster Whelp, Buster Blader would take the remains of Buster Dragon and don new armor, becoming Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, with the spirit of Buster Whelp inhabiting the armor. Fight on for a brighter future, Buster Blader and Buster Whelp...!
