Strange objects and masks in rule 17302R (w=4). Near the bottom I see bizarre versions of Darth Vader (left) and Optimus Prime (right).
A study of ethers and “materials” in rule 133R. Ethers are periodic patterns. Materials is my terminology for the different possible configurations of the automaton’s “neighborhood”, to which I assigned different colors. In this rule, the “rare material” represented by gold makes patterns that stand in stark contrast to its surroundings.
A river of simplicity flowing in a complex landscape, under two different filters, in rule 22R.
Cool figures!
Thank you!

Just a nice little collision on simple ether in rule 43604R (w=4), which, as you may notice, is closely related to beloved rule 37R from the w=3 rulespace.
Rule 77R (w=3) is special in so many ways! One of them is the occurrence of these stunning fractal dominoes which are typical of its phenomenology. But it is also outstanding within its rulespace in several more rigorously measurable categories. I may elaborate on that in future posts.
On a personal note, this rule is dear to me for having been there right at the beginning of my involvement with cellular automata, which was inspired and set in motion by this image. Thanks Klaus Sutner!
More of the same in rule 34595R (w=4).
This rule (34595R, w=4) is home to an elaborate ether made of tiles which connect with each other either seamlessly, or (when particles/defects are present) via delightful jigsaw-puzzle-like interlocking interfaces.
Additionally, a strange rug may be observed on the right side of the image depicting a bi-pedal eyeball (in addition to other strange artifacts), and held by a solemn-looking Kuala bear.
Some psychedelia courtesy of rule 37405R (w=4 rulespace).

Some wild geometry from rule 173R, a spatially-asymmetric reversible rule.
A lovely volcano in rule 30R, a spatially-asymmetric reversible rule. Notice the fractal gasketry in the backround.
A lemony creature in rule 10499R (w=4 rulespace). I love the sinuous mess which forms at the bottom of this space-time diagram.
I’ve been playing with colors...
A decorative space-time diagram belonging to rule 123R. See here for some quite different phenomenology from the same rule.

Gotta love this elegant collision in rule 151R.
Looking at the space-time diagram in my previous post of particles in rule 151R (or 233R) may give the illusion that things are quite stable in this rule. So here’s what happens next :)
