Is this common amongst anti ship individuals? I didn’t think I was being disrespectful or causing drama by asking them why they were making call-outs of others. I also looked up “proshit” to find that particular blog, in a search for the other side, to learn more about antis. I also mentioned nothing about children’s shows. So their reply was more confusing and startling than something I thought was fully appropriate. @proship-anti-discussion

There is a lot to that story and I think it is a little insensitive to use it so lightly. Especially when many creepypasta fans were also agast. Also, out of curiosity, since you are creating a new proship sub label, what does proship mean?

i was mainly defensive out of fear. not of the proship community, but what people outside of the proship community would do if they knew/thought i was part of it. the reason that changed is because i've worked on healing, from all the things that have kept me caged, the antiship community entirely included

because for a long time i was in the antiship community, and what people around me did (and by proxy what i did) was generally horrible. we'd steal art, characters, harass without remorse, i even saw people planning to doxx various proshippers for the smallest things. now that i was aware just how bad that was, i didn't want to be a target. on top of this, certain people finding out that i'm a proshipper could ruin entire friend groups, people i've known for years could cut me off with no second glance.
i lean more into darkshipping for various reasons, but the main one is simply that i love horror and a lot of darkships are... well, horrifying. there's also the fact that for a while many tropes were blocked off out of fear my colleagues would do horrible things to me
edit: i do also often use it for coping with paraphilic thoughts, but that's a lesser reason

if i could say anything to the proshippers i hurt back then it'd just be... sorry. i wish i could undo all the pain i caused. but honestly nothing i could say could change how much of an awful person i was then
and honestly? it depends on the creepypasta. generally i'd say it falls under comship/complicated ship

Specifically a poly ship between the three proxies. I thought that myself, but the person seemed to be extremely defensive and angry about being asked if it made them proship. I mean, the self ship aspect is glorifying and excusing murder in the case of the relationship. Though, admittedly I could be overthinking that in my confusion.
at this point, i just appreciate that i'm not stuck in that mentality anymore. it's incredibly freeing to just... do what i want
