#24. Bill Adama & Anastasia “Dee” Dualla

This is largely why, while I hate Dee’s death and will admit that it is an awful example of fridging, I also find it thematically right and compelling. She deserved much more as a character from a real-world perspective, but from within the logic of the story her death makes so much sense. She’s this symbol of hope, family, and home. Of course she’s the one to go after they find the first Earth to be a wasteland. It’s her loss that sends the whole group into a tailspin, starting with Adama. How the frak are they supposed to find home when Dee isn’t there to tell them where it is?
