i think one of the reasons i’m so anxious about the shadow and bone show is these books are so special to me, i grew up with them and bringing it to a wider audience is like having to share something i hold so dear and give it to the rest of the world. all i can say is people had damn better enjoy it or ill get freddy to hit them with kaz’s cane

i just realised that in less than five years’ time, it’s going to be twenty years since mean girls (2004) was released, and teens will look at it the way i looked at movies from the 80s and i think i kind of want to die a little

You should never feel bad about wanting to change or re-shape yourself into the person you want to be. Just because people have an old image of you in their minds, doesn’t mean it’s your responsibility to maintain that. Saying things like “what will they think of me?” will only place fear in your heart and paralyze you from reaching your greatest potential. You deserve to meet the highest version of youself during this lifetime. You can out grow, re-new, evolve as much as you desire. There’s so many layers to us, unravel and explore all of you.

drink tea you’ve never tried, reread your favorite book, get up to watch the sunrise, write a letter, listen to the birds, knit a bad sweater, bake an ugly cake, sing at the top of your lungs, jump crazily to some music. feel, really feel life without any restrictions, no matter the size. 

I think the key to a happy life as an adult woman is to channel your inner weird little girl and make her happy
