I was debating whether I should actually answer this since I don't like to reply to bad-faith asks, but I feel like I have something worth saying about this, and I want to encourage civil discussion and debate.

I am a Christian, and I have been my whole life. Growing up, I was taught that my faith was under attack by the "secular left" and was pressured to convert as many people as possible to "protect the cultural and spiritual purity." This mindset is little more than colonial racism, and was used by my country to justify the massacre, enslavement, and abduction of indigenous people.

Let me make one thing clear: Christianity is not under attack. Christianity is the largest religious group in the world with more adherents than Islam and atheism. Christians were persecuted in ancient Rome, but in the last 2000 years we have gone from being the persecuted to the persecutors.

But it's not an accident that you feel attacked by everyone with different beliefs. It's a classic imperialist manipulation tactic to justify military conquest, encourage violence, and reinforce state loyalty. By presenting a certain demographic as enemies, they sew hatred and attach a personal motive to strengthen it. Julius Caesar depicted the Gauls (whom he led a war of conquest against) as undisciplined, uncivilized savages. The Nazis did the same to present Jews as enemies, and the US is doing the same against Muslims and middle-easterners, as well as Latin-Americans.

Islamophobia, just like antisemitism, is a form a racism that’s anchored on religious differences. Muslims are frequently denied religious expression through laws branded as “anti-terrorist” or “public-safety,” which are subtle ways that governments skew public opinion against Muslims (associating them with terrorism) while ravaging their lands for oil. Of course, Muslims are a particular scapegoat, but the bias extends to non-Muslim people of middle-eastern descent as well, who are profiled as “violent and dangerous” and are thus more likely to be falsely accused of crimes and are more at risk of police brutality.
