I’m pretty sure I’m asexual (I’ve been questioning for a while, but I think I am!) but my feelings about sex changes. I know I wouldn’t start it, but some days I’m indifferent and some days I’m repulsed. Is there an ID for that or does asexuality have some kind of fluidity?
Yes, fluidity is normal. It’s possibly your sex repulsion is fluctuating, and sex repulsion that fluctuates or changes a lot is actually really common. For some people it may follow a pattern, for others it will just sometimes be there and sometimes not be there and there’s no real reason for it. And both are normal.
It could be sex drive too, there’s so many factors that influence sex drive and some people who are just more sensitive to it than others. So it’s possible sometimes you may have a sex drive that’s interested in having sex, and sometimes where it’s just not at all and that’s pretty normal too.
The two can also play into each other, it’s normal for sex repulsion to be more present or stronger when sex drive is low for example.
And there’s no label for the above, it’s just how these two things can work sometimes.
If you feel like there’s days where you’re actually experiencing sexual attraction (so feeling a sexual pull towards a specific person, and not just in general feeling like yeah you could have sex today), then that would probably fall under aceflux. Which is an ace-spectrum label for people who’s orientation fluctuates between being asexual and other orientations. So for some people who are aceflux they may be asexual on some days, but may experience sexual attraction to other people on other days.
All the best, Anon!
