The incredulous looking goat peers up at you, a hoof nervously brushing the cover of the book pressed to his chest.
โThatโs what it says up there in black and white! But times a tickinโ bow tie, if ya donโt make a decision right now Iโve got a whole list of folks who would love to make a deal with me!"
Rectangular pupils flit between the tickets held aloft in your hand and the tome clutched between his own. Loaf hesitates for just a second before he thrusts a trembling hoof towards you.
โItโs a deal.โ
You shake hands with enough vigor to rattle the little goatโs body and knock his glasses askew before letting go and dramatically snapping your fingers.
The tickets disappear... only to reappear with a loud popping sound directly in front of Loaf's face.
He stumbles backwards with a small bleat of alarm, pinwheeling arms launching the journal directly at your face. With another snap of your fingers the book freezes mere millimeters from impact.
Rising unsteadily from the ground, Loaf reaches for the floating tickets. He readjusts his glasses, inspects the glossy slips of paper, than gently tucks them into his vest. He looks back up into your face.
Gone is the hesitant expression the goat had been wearing just moments prior, replaced with a suspiciously cheerful one.

As you watch the foolish creature skip away your mind turns inward to all the wonderful chaos you are about to unleash. This lasts for all of 3.5 second before coming to a screeching halt. โWait, why were there quotation marks around the word book?โ
You rip your gaze away from the rapidly retreating form of the goat and snatch up the tome floating in front of you. Itโs lighter than you imagined and as you turn it over in your hands you note the seam running around the edge of the pages.
You rap the cover with your knuckles and are met with a hollow, wooden sound.
As you open the book, no, the book-shaped box and reveal itโs contents, your heart sinks. Youโd been tricked.
