Sheldon scrambled immediately for something, anything to placate her with for her to just stop yelling at him. It dredged up past memories of his parents constantly fighting and bickering when he was a child and all of that was starting to rear its ugly head and seize horrible awful memories of when his dad was drunk and would yell and scream at his mom and---even him. Serefine was not drunk (of course not she was with child) but anyone yelling at him would trigger trauma from his past of his demons he had to live with.
"Okay. Okay. Okay." He did not tell her to calm down. He remembered that was the worst thing you could tell someone especially women when they were angry. So he ushered calmly, repeating it over and over like a mantra. "Let's go get you some shrimp at that shrimp buffet you like on Colorado. Or I can get you some flowers or chocolates something. Anything. Do you want me to banish Penny from the apartment? I can do that. I will do anything you want just please---Please stop. Yelling at me." He closed his cobalt eyes tightly. His voice growing tinier in their shared bedroom.

she hadn't meant to yell โ serefine had never been the type to start yelling, as she'd had alot of fighting and chaos in her home as a child. and she knew that sheldon's parents had fought alot when they were kids; she remembered nights snuggled up to missy and could hear the yelling through the walls. serefine had promised herself she was going to be the person to NOT yell at him. but the amount of hurt in her heart at this whole situation hadn't afforded her with that memory. she was hurt, and trying to make him see just how bad she was hurting over this whole mess.
the petite blonde had paused as he started talking, feeling her anger begin to dissipate just enough for her to lower her volume. she hadn't meant for him to become almost scared as the conversation escalated. sucking in a deep breath, the blonde slowly exhaled as she shook her head. โ i'm not hungry. and i don't need you to buy me flowers, sheldon. i need โi'm just done talking now. โ knowing she'd triggered such a reaction from her love had caused her to feel angry with herself now, plus the anger she already felt at this situation was too much. she moved then, turning her back to him as she made her way to the closet to grab a bag which she then began to throw some of her clothes into. she needed to walk away from this situation, needed a moment to clear her mind away from him so she could gather herself and talk to him once she could do it without being so worked up over it.
zipping her bag, she pulled it onto her shoulders before moving towards the door. paused for a moment to look over her shoulder at the man she loved, โ i'm sorry, sheldon. โ
Sheldon rolled to the side slightly but only so he could access his phone better, yet he did not relent his hold on the blonde tucked away in his other arm. His hand was still on her stomach, touching there, soothingly, and he tapped in a text swiftly, legibly, Sera's order and his own, strong words describing the order. Demanding that they garnish the sub with extra onion and pickles.
"Alright. It should be here in less than twenty minutes. Would you like me to get your tea for you on the bedside table or would you like a juice instead?" He murmured with question and went back to holding her a little tighter against himself, curling her toward his chest. @effnyous
serefine lay there contentedly for the moment, letting him type in their order. she knew sheldon would absolutely make sure their order was right, just as he always did. his hand on her belly, soothingly holding the bump stirred something in her chest. a feeling she was far too scared to name, knowing that just might be too much right now.
"i'll drink the tea, juice doesn't appeal to me." she allowed him to curl her towards himself, snuggling in and making no move to budge for the moment. it worried her how easily he could soothe her, knew he had more power over her than she had known.
"If some other heathen put their hands all over you. Why I would punch them right in their stupid face! That's what would happen, Sera. I would put a stop to that nonsense right there!"
He said all of a sudden, defensive and his chest puffed out just a bit. His hands were at his sides and he couldn't decide if he wanted to cross them tightly across his chest or place them in his favorite place in the universe; her hips. That was probably not a good idea in case she did decide to smack him.

he said exactly what she thought he would โย she knew exactly what he would do, as the alpha male in him always reared it's head when others showed interest. the look on her face didn't change one bit as she glared at her boyfriend, one hand resting on her hip as she gave him the coldest look she could muster.
ย โ and yet you can't grasp why i'd want to hit her! how you feel when other men show interest in me is how i feel when i see someone just touching you and you do nothing about it! โ she pointed at him before crossing her arms firmly in front of her chest. โ it hurts, as the woman you're SUPPOSED TO BE WITH, seeing you not stopping someone from touching you like that. her hand was on your KNEE sheldon, and you did nothing! โ it really did string, caused her heart to ache when she saw the level of comfort between the pair. they looked good together, very relaxed and as the woman he was supposed to be with, it hurt to have that shown to her. to know he could find comfort with someone else.
"You want to--You want to hit my friend? You want to hit Penny? Why?" Sheldon was confused and the words stumbled out of his mouth as he looked at his girlfriend, neurons firing swiftly, trying to keep up with what the hell was going on with her right now? Mood swing because of the pregnancy? Penny touching him? When did Penny touch him?
"Penny touched me? When did she touch me? I don't recall her touching me---Wait she high-fived me but we always do that when we win a match. It's called good showmanship. And sometimes she hugs me. Which I don't like. But she does it anyways." He didn't realize how big of a hole he was digging for himself. And the hole kept getting bigger. "Penny always touches me, she is my best friend." Then someone deep down inside. Spock perhaps told him You should shut up Sheldon.

โ she spent more than HALF the night with her hands on you, sheldon! โ the jealousy was DEFINITELY amped up thanks to the hormones, but the fact remained that she didn't appreciate one bit that penny would push those boundaries with their friendship. serefine wasn't PURPOSELY being irrational but her eyes turned absolutely green when it came to this man.
blue eyes narrowed further, eyes practically slits as she felt a cold fury in her veins as he actually had the nerve to defend and excuse her behavior. โ so you think it's okay for another woman to touch you constantly? โ even her tone betrayed her anger, letting him know he definitely said the exact opposite of what she needed to hear. โ how would you feel if a guy had his hands all over me? what if he touched me all the time? how would YOU feel? โ

It was a strange situation for him but something about it warranted behaviors that he couldn't grasp or contain. It obviously had to travel back to when he was younger and harbored very deep undiscovered feelings about Serefine when they were growing up in Gavelston as kids.
Sheldon continued to thread her in his grasp, hand moving gently over her little pronounced bump and his mouth whispering against the shell of her ear. "Would you like me to order in some sub sandwiches for us then?" With his other hand he reached for his Iphone, palming the phone and getting ready to call the sub shop.

the petite blonde knew this was more emotion than sheldon could usually handle, but he wasn't pulling away. knowing he wasn't trying to leave, serefine found herself absolutely relaxed and her heart no longer feeling as if it fractured. she'd known a long time how she felt about sheldon but had never acted on it โ now she knew he harbored some feelings for her, as he'd called her his girlfriend.
she made absolutely no move to get out of his hold, in fact she merely snuggled in closer to him and fought back a shiver as his words tickled her ear. โ yes...can i get extra onion and pickles please? โ
It was Friday night, Halo night and the usual pizza night. Sheldon's assortment of friends always gathered and ate, talked about their day then they would split into their groups and play teams. Penny was always on Sheldon's team and as per usual Penny would always bump, touch, high five or fall against or onto his person. Serefine had been watching with a surreptitious icy glare as she munched on her pizza, staring down the other blonde and of course Sheldon was oblivious toward the two fiery glances the women had exchanged. It wasn't until Leonard finally said something to Sheldon but it was too late and Serefine stormed out of the room and into Sheldon's and her now shared bedroom and slammed the door.
After everyone left and he began to clean he knocked on the door in repetition, waiting for her to open the door and finding a very upset girlfriend staring back at him. "Did you want Chinese instead? You should have said something and I would have placed your usual Sweet N Sour Chicken instead of the ham and pineapple pizza I bought." Complete and blissfully aware of what had escalated between him and Penny during Halo night. @effnyous
she stared him down, not believing he couldn't see how absolutely angry she was then. he obviously wasn't picking up on it in the slightest and THAT pissed her off too. penny was pushing her boundaries that night, almost as if she were trying to purposely piss off the blonde. logically, she knew penny loved leonard but she truly hated how familiar she allowed herself to be with SHELDON. she glared him down, lips pursed together in frustration.
โ no sheldon, i don't WANT chinese food. i WANT to hit her, and YOU for all of the touchy feely crap she's pulling. you're LETTING her! โ the blonde was on a jealousy tirade, unable to help herself as the little green monster reared it's head. โ why is SHE touching you? โ

serefine had been lying curled up on her side of the bed while they slept. sheldon had let his grip go on her awhile ago and she'd been in a light doze. as soon as she heard the first cry of fear, her eyes had snapped open and she'd rolled to face him quickly. he was caught in a night terror! the blonde reached out, her voice gentle as she spoke, trying to wake him. once those fearful eyes locked onto her, the blonde found herself curling around her boyfriend, trying to offer him comfort.
she'd tossed one of her legs over his hips so she could get as close as possible, nothing on her mind but comforting her boyfriend. she shushed him, humming softly as she'd gently pressed him to her chest to soothe him. her fingernails lightly dragged up and down his back in a soothing manner, wanting to give him every comfort she could.
Sheldon's arms went around to grasp her tighter, this time they moved over the baby bump. She probably had thoughts swirling in her head that he didn't want the baby because he was not the father but the fact of the matter was. He did. It was a part of her and that was all that mattered to him and why he suggested she move in and they raise it together and he would help out financially and with anything else she needed. Because truthfully he never stopped loving her.
"Yes, you are my girlfriend. You should stop crying, because it is not good for this stage in your pregnancy. Do you want some tea? Or maybe a snack of cheese and apples? I know that is your favorite, Sera." He spoke soft and quietly, his hand resting on her belly where their baby thrived. @effnyous
it felt as if he were holding her pieces together, mending them as his arms tightened around her. his hands resting on her bump had the thoughts dwindling away, until there was nothing but warmth and comfort as she let the boy she'd fallen in love with so young hold her, allowed him to see how she truly felt about him. she had loved sheldon for as long as she could remember, and to hear him call her that, it soothed her fears away.
sniffling, the blonde nodded as she continued to lay so comfortably in his hold like she always had. even with both of their childhoods being rough, it was as if they knew they were safe with the other. it's how it had always been. โ i'll drink the tea. but i think i want a cold cut from that little sub shop leonard took us to last week. โ

they'd been together for a few weeks now, having finally confessed to the depths of their emotions for each other and things had been going well. they'd had the gang over most nights still, and serefine had taken notice of penny's flirty nature and how the other blonde constantly touched him. normally serefine wasn't the jealous type, she knew sheldon wasn't the type of person to cheat. but something about it had irked her.
at first she tried to brush it away, ignore it. but what started out as a little spark of jealousy had now started to burn stronger. that little green eyed monster reared it's ugly head. it'd been a nice night, until penny had spent half of it sitting RIGHT up beside sheldon, pressing too close. it was when she had patted his knee absent mindedly and let it sit for a moment that had set serefine off. without saying a word, she shot sheldon an unimpressed look and went directly to her room, slamming the door behind her.
it was quiet for a moment before she could hear voices murmuring and things moving. she could hear when the front door closed and she could hear his hurried steps towards her room. her face was flushed red from her annoyance, arms crossed and an angry look on her face as she paced her room waiting for him to come find answers.

Just then a myriad of emotions washed over him. He didn't understand what was happening. He briefly concluded he might be falling ill from the Chinese food they both had earlier that day before the sonogram or perhaps he was coming down with a brain parasite. No, it was something else and he couldn't fathom with all his bright intelligence what that something was. All he knew was that he was being pulled in slow motion to where she lay on the bed, hot cup of tea abandoned by the side table and he gathered the familiar blonde into his arms. He positioned himself beside her and curled up behind her, big spoon to little spoon.
"I know I don't have to but I want to. I think I should by the new paradigm in our relationship, that being your...boyfriend that I comfort you as best as I can do in your situation, Sera." He didn't feel the urge to rush off and wash himself, he just craved her touch.

she hadn't expected to hear him move closer, nor did she expect to feel his arms around her as he became the big spoon on the bed. the blonde let out a whimpering sob as she felt the warmth sink into her as she was held in his arms with such care. actually sheldon always handled her with such care, though her mind tried telling her it was only because he felt bad for her, felt pity.
his words had her pausing, sniffling as the word BOYFRIEND caught her ear. icy hues widened a fraction and it felt as if everything had stopped for a moment. โ did you say boyfriend? โ did he actually MEAN that? is that what he WAS to her? did he actually WANT her? her mind was all over the place but she remained quiet, occasionally sniffling as she snuggled back into his hold, pressing her back closer to his warmth. it was all done subconsciously โ without any real thought, just instinct to cuddle into the one who had her heart healing and breaking all at once. โ a-are WE...? โ her voice a mere whisper, breaking the silence in the room.
It was the first time he didn't knock in his usual repetition of threes but he did say her name. Softly, he whispered her sweet name on his lips out of concern because he was. Very concerned after the doctor appointment he had attended and also the emotions she was portraying. Even though he was not good at handling his own emotions. His mother used to tell him the best thing to do to comfort someone was to offer them a hot beverage, so there he was standing at just the entrance of Leonard's old bedroom with a mug of Chamomile in his hand, blessed with honey, he just hoped Serefine didn't haul off and throw it in his face.
"I just wanted to see if you were okay. Are you okay? Do you need me to lay with you? I can do that if you want." He reassured, his voice pitched low. He hadn't moved from his spot by the doorway waiting for her to give him permission otherwise he would just put the cup by the bedside table and retreat to his room. Give Serefine her space. He was a gentleman like that.

a silent tear slid down her cheek at his words โ god yes, she did need him to lay with her. to curl around her and shove those terrible thoughts from her mind with just his warmth โ but she couldn't ask that of him, not when he was offering so much for her and the baby growing in her womb. she couldn't ask him to hold her together when she felt as if she were falling apart. reaching up, she brushed away the tear as she sniffled, trying not to let him realize just how low she was feelings.
though every part of her craved him, she couldn't ask her friend that. sheldon was the last person she wanted to lose โ his friendship, his CARE, was much more important than what she wanted. โ you don't have to, โ her voice shook, and she silently cursed as you could hear the thickness of tears in her voice. serefine wanted so much to beg for him to stay, to make her heart stop hurting. there were so many things she needed from him but she'd dare not ask, even if she was crumbling rapidly without a grounding force.

pale cheeks flushed at the words, gaze settling onto the man she'd known most of her life. his words surprised her, and made her heart race along with making her swallow. โ yeah? and who would that be? โ she was flirting, though she knew she probably shouldn't seeing as sheldon didn't seem to feel the same about her. not that she blamed him, she wasn't an easy person to care for but to know he thought she should be kissed? she couldn't help herself, testing their boundaries as friends.

breath hitched in her throat at his words, not quite expecting him to speak nor to confess something like that to her. sheldon cooper didn't trust anyone, and to know he trusted her warmed something in the pretty blonde. โ shelly, i feel the same way. โ

lips parted with a soft sigh as she lay on her side in the bed that was Leonard's room but he'd moved out of the apartment a few weeks ago when sheldon had told her he wanted to help her raised her baby, even though it wasn't his nor was it his responsibility. many people had said sheldon wasn't a nice person, but she'd argue otherwise. this man, who had rarely shown emotion and didn't like stupid people, had said he WANTED to raise this baby with her. it was out of character, but it made her realize that sheldon really had to care โ right? he wouldn't do something out of pity...right?
they'd gone to her sonogram appointment together that day, just to make sure the baby was okay since she hadn't visited since she found out. it'd only been a few weeks, but still. they'd seen the baby appear in black and white, the image grainy but they could clearly see the little person in her womb. sheldon had looked delighted but all of these fears began to whirl through her mind and she couldn't shake them away.
as soon as they'd gotten home, she'd retreated to her room and locked the door so that she could be alone. it was rare she shut him out but her fears were closing in and she needed to try to work through it herself. figure out a plan on what to do IF he DID change his mind. eventually, some hours had passed and she'd gotten up to go to the bathroom before retreating back to her room and shutting the door, though the lock was never latched.
she curled back up on the bad, her back facing the door as she struggled to fight off the tears threatening to fall. the door creaking alerted her to his presence, and she felt her body tense but she didn't roll to face him. โ what do you need, sheldon? โ not SHELLY this time, not when her heart felt like it was breaking at the thought of him not going through with his promise to her, even if she'd known him all their lives it seemed.
she wouldn't blame him if he did change his mind, because this baby wasn't his responsibility. he didn't need to be attached to her and a baby he didn't help make. he'd never want her and that's what tore and clawed at her.
