‘ Last orders were called. We’re closing in five. ’ A glance is barely spared at the person claiming a bar stool as their own. Tired, impatient eyes are too busy focusing on the wall clock instead, watching it’s grubby hands tick towards midnight and heart lamenting another bedtime story missed because she’s working a doubt shift. It isn’t until her boss, ever silent ( sometimes even sleeping. ) in their dark corner, clears their throat : it’s a stern noise that reminds her The White Wyvern is never closed until there’s no one left to serve. Deep breath is taken in and Andie collects herself before finally turning to greet their visitor, flashing ( is it too little, too late to fake it now? ) her best, brightest customer service smile — one that’s possibly far too PERKY for a place like Knockturn Alley. ‘ But, of course, we can make an exception for you. ’ If there’s a hint of sarcasm in her response, she’ll deny, deny, deny when asked. Needs this job too much not to. Hand is already reaching for a glass in preparation, the other tugging a rather questionable - looking dishcloth off her right shoulder to give it a quick wipe over. ‘ What can I get’cha? I make a mean Hair of the Three - Headed Dog, but fair warning, it’s not for the faint - hearted. ’

𝒂𝒋𝒂𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 pushy bosses to wince at the sharp noise coming from the corner of the bar . not from ollivander , of course . the old man was wont to run on his own time with no real regard for customers except for when he “ had a feeling ” . they were usually CORRECT feelings so ajay didn’t complain much . the flexible hours were blessing enough as it is . before ollivander , however , ajay held down a string of shitty food service jobs that did little more for his life than fund his schooling career . walking into the joint five minutes before closing was a surefire way to paint himself as the biggest asshole of the night . ❝ swear down i dont need a drink . i’ll be out of your hair in just a bit , ❞ he promises , mouth twisting in guilt even as he bustles in as quickly as he can . he’d literally rather die than keep any of the employees here much longer than closing time . they just happened to be the only one still open . ❝ i was just wondering if you guys had any silver utensils that i could have ? i’ll pay for it , i promise , ❞ this is aimed at the corner where the initial cough had come from . ❝ i just need a . . . a spoon or a mixer or something . i’ll even bring it back later if you can’t part with it forever . ❞
