Hyrrokkin, a giantess that travels on the back of a large wolf on which she uses snakes as reins.

She was called from Jotunheim to the funeral of Baldr and Nanna because all the others attending were unable to push their funeral barge into the water. At arrival Hyrrokin left her wolf mount temporarily in the care of the gods, Odin commanded four berserkers to restrain the wild creature but they were only successful after they had knocked the wolf down.

Hyrrokin succeed in the task but her push was so powerful that it sent tremors across all land and the rolling pins under the boat were set ablaze. Thor was so angered by this that he grabbed his hammer determined to crush the giantess head but was stopped by the demand of the other gods.
