i see a lot of "skybound megatron isn't remotely sympathetic and is just evil for the sake of it" takes and can't help but wonder if we read the same thing sometimes.

he isn't sympathetic in the same way some other iterations are, certainly, but "for the evulz" is very much something he isn't doing. even if DWJ hadn't literally written in the letters portion of #20 that megs has his own strange code of conduct that involves healing loyal decepticons before himself, he still does it, and also very much believes that what he does is necessary for the good of cybertron.

#19 also very clearly depicts his own fears and weaknesses, and the idea that he isn't (albeit strangely) sympathetic in that instance is somewhat strange to me.

tl;dr he's indisputably vicious and very much the antagonist of the story but i really don't think that translates to "100% Unsympathetic Just To Be Evil Guy"

An absolutely inspired idea from these comics. Missed opportunity not calling this a "conclave" which would make more sense... but an even bigger missed opportunity is that when the term conclave was used later in IDW it just meant an elite group of Decepticon leaders. Boo! It should be a ridiculous ball! XD It was nice to see the Autobots sneaking around sabotaging them all, too!
