This table came about with the edcmooc2 digital artefact deadline of midnight hurtling towards me. My original intent for a digital artefact had been to encompass all the notes I'd made so far on edcmooc2, through its weekly resources, as well as including notes from edcmooc1 in reflection - on a Wordpress blog. Given the circumstances, I resorted to a Tumblr microblog approach, which already had 4 posts up, header all done, set up and ready to go. Contingencies combined with circumstance conditioned what could be done, what had to be left aside.
It is an assemblage (see Ross et al 2013 pdf:p54-55) that grew from a curiosity about how environments were presented in the short films within edcmooc2; the spatial metaphors portrayed of assumptions about place, Nature, what is out-of-doors (and their importance in living - or lack of, or neglect of); visions projected of utopic or dystopic futures near or far (Newitz 2011 @7-11min); of embodied, disembodied or techno-bodied human-technology fusions (and sometimes, confusions, as in A Digital Tomorrow).
What habitats are generated from elearning and digital cultures discourses and interactivities? In a medium that is neither air nor water but material constructs that tap into each and every mind and imagination engaged, what projections are being made about Nature and the Environment?
