For this assignment, I had a voice conversation with ChatGPT about whether students should be allowed to use ChatGPT in school, especially in language classrooms. We talked about the advantages of using AI and some possible concerns. One of my biggest concerns was the idea that AI might replace teachers in the future. However, during the conversation, ChatGPT emphasized that teachers have important roles that AI cannot fully replace. Overall, I had a positive experience. The chatbot answered my questions clearly and followed the conversation without any problems. It also asked meaningful questions, which helped the conversation continue naturally. One thing I liked was that I did not feel nervous while talking. I felt more comfortable because I knew that making mistakes was not a problem. This made the speaking practice less stressful. At the same time, using AI also had some challenges. Sometimes, talking to a chatbot felt different from talking to a real person. Human conversations usually include emotions, personal experiences, and different opinions. Although the chatbot was helpful, it did not feel exactly the same as communicating with another person. Because of this, I think AI should support language learning, but it should not replace real interaction.

As a future English teacher, I think I can use similar AI tools in my own classes. For example, students can use chatbots to practice speaking, learn new vocabulary, or get feedback on their writing. These tools can give students more opportunities to use English outside the classroom. They can also help shy students feel more confident.

In my opinion, AI has both benefits and drawbacks in language learning. It provides quick feedback, personalized support, and extra practice opportunities. However, students may become too dependent on AI if it is not used carefully. For this reason, I believe AI should be used as a supporting tool, while teachers should continue to play the main role in the learning process. Overall, this activity helped me see how AI can be integrated into language education in a balanced and responsible way.

When I first started this course, I thought technology in English language teaching was mainly about making lessons more interesting and interactive . I knew that technology could be useful in the classroom, but I had never really thought about how teachers could integrate it effectively into their lessons. Throughout this course , my thoughts changed. I realized that technology is much more than using digital tools. It can support learning, increase student participation, and help teachers create more engaging learning environments when it is used with a clear purpose.

This course helped me learn a lot about technology integration in ELT. Through different tasks, I had the chance to explore many digital tools and think about how they could be used in real life when i become a teacher. Instead of focusing only on the tools themselves, I started to think about how they can support language learning and teaching goals.

My favorite task was creating a digital story in the form of a how-to video. Me and my friend made a makeup tutorial, and it was probably the most enjoyable assignment for me. It was easy to create, fun to work on, and allowed me to be creative. I enjoyed recording and editing the video, and the task showed me how digital storytelling can be used in language teaching in a simple but effective way. The task I liked the least was creating an infographic. Although I understand why infographics can be useful, I found that task more boring and time-consuming. Organizing information visually was not as enjoyable for me as creating a video, and I spent a lot of time trying to make the design look clear and attractive.

Overall, I think this course has been very useful for my future career as an English teacher. It helped me become more confident in using technology and introduced me to tools that I may use in my own classroom one day. As a suggestion, I think it would be helpful to include even more practical activities that allow students to design lessons and try out different technologies in realistic teaching situations.

For our collaborative writing project, my friend Ece @eceinprogress and and I wrote a film review about Barbie using Google Docs. The aim of the assignment was to prepare a review for a university magazine by analyzing different aspects of a film such as the plot, acting, cinematography, music, and themes. We also had to exchange our reviews with another group and give feedback through the comment feature on Google Docs. After finishing the review, we added images and the trailer of the movie to our page as requested in the instructions.

During the writing process, we divided the work equally and shared our ideas with each other. One of us focused more on writing the plot summary and discussing the themes of identity and gender roles, while the other focused on the cinematography, soundtrack, and overall editing of the text. Since we worked on the same document at the same time, Google Docs made communication much easier and faster. We could immediately see each other’s corrections, comments, and suggestions without needing to send separate files.

I think Google Docs is a very useful tool for collaborative writing projects because it helps group members stay organized and work together more comfortably. The comment and suggestion features were especially helpful when we were checking grammar mistakes or improving some sentences. Reading another group’s review and receiving feedback on our own work also made the project more interactive and interesting. Overall, this assignment was both enjoyable and useful because it helped us improve our teamwork, writing, and critical thinking skills while discussing a popular and meaningful film.

For this assignment, me and my teammate Ece Yaman @eceinprogress decided to make a how-to video, so we made a simple six step makeup tutorial with a voiceover. It was actually really fun to do. I like doing makeup anyway, and I enjoy sharing my makeup tips with others, so it didn’t feel like a difficult task it felt more like an everyday thing for me. While filming and editing, I kind of felt like an influencer, which was enjoyable. We tried to keep the steps clear and easy to follow. The voiceover part made the video feel more complete and a bit more personal. We shot and edited everything on TikTok, which made things easier. The editing tools were simple to use, so the whole process didn’t take too long and was pretty fun. Below you can see the link to our tutorial.

Overall, it was a nice experience and one of the most enjoyable assignments we’ve had.🩷💄

For this assignment, my beloved partner Ece (you can visit her blog here @eceinprogress ) and I produced a vox-pop podcast based on short interviews we had with 14 different people. Instead of focusing only on the answers, what stood out to me was how people reacted to being asked a question unexpectedly. Some answered quickly, while others took time to think, some even asked artificial intelligence tools before answering which showed how differently people approach even simple questions.

For me, the most interesting part of the process was observing these small moments during interaction. It made me realize that communication is not just about what people say, but also how they say it, their hesitation, tone, and attitude. This made the experience feel more meaningful than a typical speaking activity.

One of the more challenging parts was the technical side. We had no real experience with editing, so organizing and cleaning the recordings took time. Thankfully, a friend of mine who studies Radio, Television, and Cinema introduced us to some useful editing tools and explained how to use them. With his help, we were able to turn our recordings into a proper podcast.

In the future, I would consider using a similar task with my students, but with careful planning. While it is very effective for developing real-life communication skills and raising awareness about how people interact, it also requires time, guidance, and some technical support. Despite these challenges, it is a valuable and engaging learning experience.

For this assignment, we were asked to create an informational infographic about an ethical and legal issue related to technology use. I decided to focus on digital privacy and online safety because it is something we deal with almost every day, often without thinking too much about it. While creating my infographic, I tried to keep the information simple, clear, and visually engaging. I included key points such as what digital privacy means, why it matters, common risks, and some basic legal and ethical aspects.

For the design, I used Canva, which made the process much easier thanks to its ready-made templates and simple interface. Overall, the design process was enjoyable, but not completely effortless. The most challenging part was trying to say enough without overcrowding the infographic. It made me realize how important it is to be selective and concise.

I think infographics can be very useful in the English classroom. They make learning more visual and less overwhelming, especially for complex topics. Also, creating one helps students improve their ability to summarize information, organize ideas, and think creatively. Instead of just reading or writing long texts, students actively engage with the content, which can make learning more effective and memorable.

Hello everyone. Today I wanted to talk a little about 21st century learning. Honestly, to me it’s all about learning in a way that actually makes sense for today. It’s not just memorizing stuff from books anymore, it’s about thinking, creating, collaborating, and using technology to help us learn.

In language learning, this is super important. Students need more than grammar rules, they need to practice real English, talk, listen, and use it in daily life. That’s where technology comes in. Things like apps, online games, and videos make learning English more fun and interactive. Plus, students can explore stuff at their own pace, which I think is really cool. As a future teacher, I feel like using tech wisely is key. It doesn’t replace us, but it helps us make lessons more exciting and meaningful. Honestly, the classroom feels so different when students are actually engaged and trying things out themselves instead of just copying from the board.

So, 21st century learning is basically about preparing students for real life while keeping it interesting. And for me, figuring out how to mix teaching and technology is one of the most exciting parts of becoming a new-gen teacher.
