Family pictures and paintings on display at Lennox House for Architectural Digest, 2019
The house has had a revolving door of tenants since the 1960s. After their marriage in 1968, it became the residence of Louis, then Prince of Danforth, and his wife, Irene. The couple quickly surrendered the property when Louis acceded to the throne in 1970. Later, the king's mother, Queen Katherine, and brother, Prince Clarence, moved into Lennox House.
Prince Carlence later moved into an apartment in Rockcliff Palace following his marriage in 1980. In 2003, Katherine's grandson, James, Prince of Danforth, moved into Lennox House with his wife and two sons. The young family occupied the bottom two floors of Lennox House, while Queen Katherine maintained an apartment on the third.
Following the death of Prince James in 2017, Princess Tatiana moved with her children to Rockcliff Palace. Queen Katherine remained in residence at Lennox House until her own death in 2018. Today, the house remains unoccupied, although select rooms are open to the public all year around.
