Negan was silent for a few minutes, looking around, wondering why the person who was obviously watching him wouldn’t take his threats seriously and show themselves. He chuckled to himself, swinging Lucille around a few times before finally speaking.
“Listen, I’ve been yelling for you to show yourself loud enough that in about 2 minutes there will be walkers swarming us. I’m not the only one you’ve got to be afraid of. So, you have two choices. Either you come out and we get out of here before the walkers come looking for fresh meat, or you wait and I’ll eventually have to save your ass from being walker chow. Your choice.” He said, leaning up against a tree.
A few more moments went by, and as Negan had predicted, faint sounds of walker moans started filling the air around them. Negan smiled to himself, standing up fully, Lucille over his shoulders. “Clocks ticking. I say you’ve got about 30 seconds. Make your decision.”
There was no doubt that this situation was sticky. Concerned for his safety all around, negotiating whether or not to make himself present was an internal struggle that only added to the shoulder of stress he was already carrying.
The stranger was right though, he didn’t have long, –– &&, when a walker snuck up behind Charlie, taking him by surprise, he cursed the wind.
It grabbed at the back of his hoodie, && pulled with purpose. The muscle in his heart felt like it was going to explode in his chest, but his fear only fueled his fight. In a poor attempt to wrench himself away, Charlie unfortunately dropped his knife, && he choked on air as he managed to wriggle himself out his hoodie.
Cautious eyes watched as the undead creature took a bite out of his old ragged garb –– he thanked the sky, feeling lucky that wasn’t him. The last thing he wanted to be was walker chow –– as the other so eloquently put it.
With earnest, Charlie backed away until his whole figure was revealed to the stranger. “Alright, I’m here, n-now what?” He questioned over his shoulder, as he inched closer to the man.
Charlie eyed the bat, finally facing the man now –– feeling uncomfortable, && only hoped that the hunk of lumber would never be intended to harm him. If the stranger was going to offer help, then please, let him be saved.
