Character Biography
“One need not be a chamber to be haunted.”
Past:
Nick never thought that he would be here. He’d joked about things that he would “sell his soul” for, but he never thought that something would come that would actually lead him to that place. That was until his little sister got sick. She was only 12 years old and had a heart more pure than gold, there was nothing that Nick wouldn’t have done to make the quickly progressing cancer go away. So when he was approached to make a deal while taking time outside of the hospital to process the news that her days to live were numbered, he couldn’t refuse.
Present:
Twenty-five years into his new life and the guilt that comes with every deal he tricks someone into is already weighing heavily on Nick’s shoulders. He always tries to make sure it’s someone who really needs the deal like he did but it doesn’t stop the guilt that he may be subjecting them to the same fate that he detests. Nick has come to Easthaven as his next stop on his journey, he can never stay in one place too long before people notice that he’s not aging and that he can no longer find deals that he’s willing to make. Some of the times that he’s spent have been more nomadic, moving constantly from place to place, but it’s been a while and he wants to try to settle down and spend some time enjoying the things that he did while he was human. Hoping that the ghosts of his past can at least give him half of a decade of somewhat normalcy as a break from all that he’s done.
Future:
Nick doesn’t really expect much of his future. He knows that he will constantly live in the cycles of nomadic and mock-civilian life but he doesn’t know what else to expect beyond that. He is hoping that he will be able to spend some time pretending to be a human after so many years doing his part for the underworld but who knows how long that could last. He wants to enjoy normalcy for even a tiny fraction of his eternal damnation. However, Nick also knows how dangerous this choice could be and even though he no longer has a soul, he knows if he’s killed that his fate could be worse than damning.
Since many of our members liked the last admin post, we have yet to remove anyone for inactivity, since a lot of us have been busy with real life which always comes first! We want to give everyone a chance to keep their characters and stay in the role play, if interested. We have a really great group here, and both of us admins would hate to lose anybody.
There will be an official activity check on Thursday, November 3rd. For those of you who are still interested in sticking around with us, we urge you to make an IC post before that date! Anyone who is still inactive will be removed on Thursday, November 3rd.
If anyone has any questions or concerns at all, please feel free to message the main!

Hey guys! Emily and I (Sara) want to apologize for not being around. I think I speak for everyone when I say life is crazy busy lately. A lot of times, the muse is there, but the physical energy it takes to get on and do replies is really lacking. We can’t hold anyone accountable for that, because, clearly, the admins are falling victim to that as well!
All that being said, we will not be doing a formal activity check this week. We want to give everyone a chance to get on, post, and do replies as they can, rather than removing anyone right away. But in the place of an activity check, please like this post once you’ve seen it so we know who would like to remain a part of the group.
Thanks for your patience! This is a fantastic group. Sorry again for going MIA, but we hope you’ll all stick around!

P.S. Info about our first event will be up very soon!

Character Biography
“With fangs bared that glisten like the purest pearls, she rips through hardship for a better tomorrow.”
Past:
She’d only just turned twenty five a week ago; it was a new age for her, the age in which she was truly an adult, ready for marriage, or at the very least, a lover with whom she could spend her time together with. She was a beautiful young woman, and for this her father was proud of her, because in a way it made her just like her mother whom had passed away when Quinn was thirteen. Quinn was ready to take the first step as an adult, and felt it was time to come out to her father. “Father, I want to tell you that I’m in a relationship, and I truly feel as though I’m in love.” It should have been something of celebration, but it became the darkest day of her life. The man she emulated, turned his back on her. The man she felt could never feel anything but love for her, turned his love to hatred multiplied. Glenn Fabray became enraged when he found out his only daughter was in the midst of a relationship with another woman.
Quinn defended her lover from her father’s physical outburst, threatening her harm. She tried to reason with the man whose anger clouded all sense of rationality. Words such as ‘Heretic’, 'Abomination’, and 'Satanic’ were screamed at her, thrown in her face as her father forced her away from being between him and her love Abigail. Quinn screamed at him, but in his heated rage Glenn snapped Abigail’s neck, letting her limp body drop to the floor with a thud as he turned back to Quinn with palpable hate in his eyes. It scared her. Instinctively her body backed away from him as he moved closer. “You are no daughter of mine. Now get out, before I send your wretched defiled soul to hell.” The words were enough to send her heart sinking deep into her stomach, but she heeded the warning with haste and left the place she’d called home the entirety of her life.
She had nowhere to go, nowhere to call home, no love to turn to in her time of need, and no friends in the new town she’d found herself in. In all her life she’d never felt so alone, unwanted, and worthless. Eyes turned to her, and simply looked through her as if she were not there. She was left to her own devices for weeks before someone found her, and with enough sympathy in their heart they helped her. Madam Krista Lynn Laefeur, a noble hailing from the French lands. She didn’t speak of herself much; where she came from, what family she had, or why she was there, but she gave Quinn what she desperately needed: a place to call home, someone who cared for her, food to sustain her, warmth to keep her, and a bed to rest in. Quinn was forever grateful to her, but as she spent more time with the Madam, she realized there was something different about her.
She couldn’t place her finger on it, and it wasn’t until she came across the Madam in private discussing a matter with another when she found out her suspicions were correct. Before her eyes the Madam sank a pair of fangs into the man’s neck, sucking, slurping, taking his blood with great fervor, she feared she may not be safe around the Madam any longer. When she tried to flee, she was stopped by the Madam herself, her lips dripping of crimson while her tongue so leisurely lapped it up from her chin and up. “Do not fear me, sweet Quinn. I will not harm you.” Her voice, so sweet and soft like sugared velvet, was enough for Quinn to believe she were being honest, and wished no harm on her. “What are you?” Quinn whispered the question in a soft, hushed manner, as if afraid for the answer. Her eyes lifted to the Madam’s, awash with the fear that laced her whispered tone. The stained lips parted, and a single word was spoken from them, “Vampire.”
Madam had given her back her life, and wished for Quinn to join her, as part of her own. She turned Quinn, made her into a young vampire, and taught her what she needed to know in order to live her new life. For Quinn, it was a chance to start over, to create a new and better life while leaving the hate of her human life behind her. As time progressed, Quinn was finally able to find a place where she could be what and who she was, and wanted to be, at Easthaven.
Present:
Quinn is a continued student at Easthaven, majoring in the Drama department. She loves the stage, the thrill of acting as a completely different person, and the applause of the audience. When on stage she immerses herself in the character she plays, and will sometimes forget she’s acting all together. Her tastes have opened up to more than just liking the female gender. She’s come to accept that she likes both males and females, and while she sparingly dates, she’s happy with the life she has for the most part. She has a personal wish that she would find a more permanent spouse, someone she could love with all of her and not be afraid to do so. She’s regulated her blood intake so as not to cause any long lasting issues now that she’s found a place she can call home. She bares her fangs in defense of herself and those she cares for. She’s become an upstanding student, and because of this reputation she refrains from fighting others. She continues to try making new friends, though will often come off as rude or snobbish at first, contrary to what she actually means. This either forces her to come forward with an apology, or the fellow student to resent and dislike her. When she’s not at school she resides in the mansion left to her by the Madam before her death. She has no company, and often feels alone, but she could never give up the home given to her by the woman who gave her a second chance at a new life.
Future:
She wants to become the immortal face of the stage, as an accepted vampire actress, a voice for other supernatural actors. She wants to eventually bring other supernatural beings to light for the rest of human kind, and work to be accepted in regular society again the way she is. That is her career goal. While it consumes a great deal of her time and energy, Quinn still hopes for that long lasting relationship she’s always wanted to have, to find someone she feels she can completely give herself to. She wants a true love, even though she doesn’t talk about it very much out loud. At home she keeps various journals of the years that she’s lived, but hides them away once they are filled.

Character Biography
"THE WOODS ARE LOVELY, DARK AND DEEP. BUT I HAVE PROMISES TO KEEP,
AND MILES TO GO BEFORE I SLEEP.'
Past:
Jesse was born and raised in Wyoming, in a tiny town where nobody even knew he existed. His mother died during childbirth, and his father was an alcoholic who had never gotten over the loss of his wife. Jesse had to learn from a very young age to take care of himself, and his father’s violent temper made him keen to hide in the shadows and keep his thoughts and opinions to himself, even though he had a strong passion for reading and was fascinated by all of the new ideas and concepts he read about every time he opened up a book. Thankfully Jesse’s neighbor was a teacher, and she encouraged Mr St. James to make sure that his son got a good education. In all honesty, the man was glad just to get his son out of the house and in someone else’s care for a while, so he enrolled Jesse at the school their neighbor, Mrs Waterstone, worked at, and although it took the young male a while to settle being so far behind most of his peers in terms of social skills and general education, he soon caught up and became a very promising student.
Jesse’s father disappeared when he was seventeen, and although he felt stunned and despondent at being abandoned, he knew that he still needed to focus on his own future, otherwise he was probably in danger of meeting the same fate as the man who had left him behind. Mrs Waterstone took him in and he returned her kindness by doing small jobs for people in the area and giving all of his earnings to the woman while continuing to study hard. He was rewarded with a scholarship to Easthaven University, and although his sheltered upbringing meant that he didn’t know all that much about the place, he was aware that it was a highly regarded school, and his guardian’s enthusiasm made him sure it would be a huge mistake to pass up the opportunity the college was giving him.
Jesse’s life changed dramatically in the summer between high school and college. He made his move to Ohio, gifted with a small amount of money his guardian had saved up for him - she had basically put aside all of the money that Jesse had given her over the past year without his knowledge, not needing it herself and knowing that it would be put to much better use to fund Jesse’s education. She added some of her own cash as well, of course, and while the young student was frustrated that he was having to take a hand-out, he couldn’t refuse his guardian’s kindness and promised to make the woman proud of him. He took on a job with a local newspaper and decided to try to rent a room of another older lady, though the ad he answered turned out to be very different from his previous situation. The woman who answered the door to him was beautiful, alluring and deeply manipulative, and she seemed to put Jesse under a spell which resulted in him wanting to fulfill her every wish, even though he barely even knew her name. The woman tricked Jesse into meeting with a man that she knew, encouraging him to do whatever it took to please the man. Once again the young male was enticed and manipulated, and he ended up not only giving his body and mind over to the older pair, but also submitting his soul to the man who turned out to be a demon. Jesse’s personality changed in a lot of ways after that night - he was no longer naive and innocent, devoted to his books and his studies and nothing more. He was suddenly more confident, aware of his attractiveness and able with the help of his two new acquaintances to learn how to charm people into liking him or doing things for him. His morals have somehow remained relatively intact though, and although he knows that he’s supposed to be urging people to give up their own souls now, it’s not something he finds easy to want to do.
Present:
Jesse is doing fairly well in his studies, but he’s not nearly as tempted by his studies as he once was, constantly feeling that urge to get out into the world and interact with people who excite him more than his tutors and peers. He still wants to get his diploma though, and he wants Mrs Waterstone to be proud of him, even though he rarely seems to be able to find the time to talk to her just lately. College life is just way too much fun, and Jesse is actually concerned that his future is going to be very boring once this rollercoaster ride is all over. Jesse is being encouraged by the witch and demon who originally turned him that he must work hard to become the powerful demon that they know he can be, but he’s very torn, knowing that he should be focusing on becoming a writer and earning a decent living. He feels like he’s being pulled in two different directions, and each day that goes by seems to leave him having made a new decision, though by the time the morning comes his mind has been changed once again.
Future (suicide tw):
Jesse is currently completely unsure about his future, and if he was capable of doing so, he honestly feels that he might have tried to end his life before now, simply to try to avoid having to make a choice about which way he should be headed. If he’s able to fight the demon inside of him, he’d love to become a published author, already having written two novels although they’re locked away from view and he refuses to talk about them to anyone at all. Perhaps another person would be able to influence his overall decision about his life if he was able to let his guard down and seek the help he so desperately needs, but so far his pride and constant changes in mood have scuppered any chance of that happening.

“Oh well, it’s obvious that I’m white and nerdy”
Past:
TW: PARENTAL DEATH
For as long as Sam Evans could remember, he knew that there was more to the world than others believed. He understood that his family was different; that he was different. Yet different was not something to be proud of.
Five years old. That is how old Sam was when he first began to show signs of his magical abilities. He remembers it clearly, as though it happened just yesterday. He was running around with another little boy before collapsing in a fit of giggles near the small pile of toys that they’d both brought to the park. He never intended to make something happen, nor did he know how it had come to be. One moment they were playing with their cars, the next they were moving on their own, a toy plane slowly lifting up into the air. It filled him with a sense of wonder, and a desire to see the plane fly high and fast. Yet, before he could see this happen, he was being swept up into the arms of his father and rushed out of the park while his parents whispered between them, words of ‘too soon’ and 'binding’ leaving him confused.
From that day on, Dwight and Mary kept a close eye on Sam. In the weeks that followed, nothing out of the ordinary occurred. No more moving toys. No more signs that Sam could possibly be displaying any kind of ability beyond the norm. They appeared to relax then, leaving him be for the time being. Little did they know that the constant watch over him was what kept him from making a wrong move, from allowing his imagination to wonder as he feared that they were upset with him, that they were waiting for him to do something wrong. Then, with the sudden trust in him and the lack of constant monitoring, Sam allowed himself to relax and play. A move which would come to be a mistake.
The day that his mother discovered Sam playing with toys that moved on their own, she sat him down and urged him not to do it again. She spoke of the rest of the world, of the fear that they would display if they were to learn what he was capable of. It was something to be kept secret and though he promised to try, he was far too young to control such a strong power. He could do little to stop it and prevent anything from happening around those that did not know of the magical community.
It was inevitable that they would be discovered, that Sam would make the mistake of displaying too much, at the wrong time. The neighbors began to whisper and look at the Evans with fearful curiosity. For a family wanting nothing more than to live an ordinary life, the attention was the last thing they wanted. And nothing made that more clear than the loud arguments that Sam could hear from within his room, though he could hardly understand what was being discussed. Should he be bound or not? He was beyond confused and walked in on one particular disagreement to question why they were fighting and what he had done. They did little more than attempt to comfort him before sending him off on his way, urging him to go to bed.
The next morning he woke up to a strange scent of burning herbs and a sensation of something being wrong, as though something was missing and he couldn’t figure out what it was. From that day, he was no longer special, he couldn’t tap into that magical place within him that allowed him to do all the wonderful things that he could dream up. Later, he would understand what had happened, his parents had bound his power.
As time passed on, Sam couldn’t forget the wondrous things that he had once been capable of, nor could he deny the part of him that remained hollow, as though he wasn’t quite complete. A small part of him wanted to resent his parents for what they had done, but to think of it made him feel guilty. He loved his parents and needed to believe that they simply wanted the best for him. Yet, when his younger siblings arrived, he wanted nothing more than to fight them when they decided to take preventative measures, binding them when they were just infants. They would never know what could have been, and how special they truly were.
For a while, Sam could pretend that nothing was wrong. He needed to do so for Stevie and Stacey. They were young, they had never known and they could never know what they really were. He wanted to protect them, to allow him to live the life that his parents had originally wanted him to have. Then everything changed.
At 17, Sam answered the door to find the police on his front porch. The news that his parents had been in an accident chilled him to the bone. The sense of dread he felt in that moment could not be shaken. It wasn’t long before he found himself walking into a hospital room where his mother lay hooked up to various machines, looking battered and broken. The question of his father’s condition was met with tense silence. Before they could say a word, he knew what had happened. His father was gone and now his mother was barely hanging on. Were it not for his younger siblings, who he refused to allow to see their mother in such a state, he would have never left Mary’s side. He would regret that decision when he returned one evening to find that Mary had passed away in the hours that he had been gone. Everything moved so quickly from that moment on.
Days blurred into each other, Sam only able to process bits of information: should they be sent to child protective services, would they be able to stay together? That wasn’t a question. He would not leave his siblings and would fight tooth and nail to remain with them. Just when the fleeting thought of fighting for custody of his siblings ran through his mind, his estranged grandparents were coming through the door and sweeping them away.
Sam was grateful, there was no doubt about it, but there was still a lingering hesitance to get close. He knew little about them, simply having learned that their father hadn’t wanted them to be a part of their lives. Why? Well, it took some time and the sudden display of powers from his siblings for him to finally understand. Unlike his parents, his grandparents were avid magic users. Not only that but they were quick to inform Sam that with the death of his parents, the binding spell was broken. He was free to use and learn about all that he was capable of. He resisted, at first, knowing that it would not be what his parents wanted but Stevie and Stacey were too young and hadn’t known how difficult that it had been to keep this all from them. They eagerly jumped at the opportunity to explore their powers.
It took a few months, where Sam pretended to still be a normal joe, working at a lousy job to help his grandparents out with everything that his siblings could need, before he caved to the insistence of his grandparents to simply attempt to accept that the magic he had was not a curse but a blessing. Gradually, he did begin to accept this new life, coming to enjoy learning all he could about magic and yet he continued to keep it all to himself, avoiding socialization when he felt that his powers were growing too strong. His grandparents would have none of it.
After having learned the basics of controlling his ever growing power, his grandparents began to urge him to step out into the world. To live life and not fear to mingle his 'normal’ life with his magical side. Eventually, Sam was unable to deny them. He knew that he needed to try, needed to see if he could really do this, be able to live as an ordinary guy. And, with his grandparents’ encouragement, Sam found himself at Easthaven, having learned that he would not be the only 'special’ person to attend. How special they all were? Well, he wasn’t sure but it put him at ease to know that there were more like him in the world.
Present:
As it turned out, there were pitfalls to attending college while struggling with control over his magical abilities. There had been a number of near misses, of times when he could have easily exposed himself for the warlock that he was but he made it through undetected, as far as he knew. Now, he’s feeling a little more confident, more so with his move off campus. The last thing he needs is to relive nearly blowing up his dorm room with one unfortunate mishap. He’ll just chalk it up to a lesson learned and hope that this year ends up better than the last.
Future:
Sam plans to put his degree to good use and channel his own experiences, along with his active imagination, to create games that will fascinate and possibly teach those who play it of the world that exists just beyond their own. While gaming is his passion, he plans to do more than lock himself away designing and dreaming up new games. He wants to make a difference in the magical community. He doesn’t want what happened to him to happen to another. He doesn’t want anyone to be ashamed of who they really are and plans on working to build a safe place where young witches and warlocks can practice as well as learn to control their powers. It will take a lot of time and work, but Sam is determined to do it all, one way or another.
We currently have an awesome app for Sam Evans in our inbox which I am super psyched about! I still need to discuss with Emily about acceptance time, but in the meantime, we’d love to see a few more apps to accept!
