Rei was seemingly unphased by hot weather as she 1ood in the shade of the tree, leaning back against it with her arms crossed.
The Dark Signer then clicked her tongue in agitation, clearly unsatisfied by this instance of idleness.
"...When will it finally be time to make our move? All of this waiting just feels like a waste of time..."

Blunt reply.
"If your bored, get a job. find a hobby, something that won't let you interact with authorities or the signers."
Devack own voice was lacking in enthusiasm like he usually was, his own hobbies were travelling using the underworld, but that not something he would be giving to anyone new right now.
"Pehraps start a cult in our lord name."
He shrugged. "Could be. Still making money either way." Noctis took a moment to enjoy the taste of his own ice cream. His royal blue gaze shifting back to Devack. Surprised by the amount he had gathered.
"Damn! I find it impressive that you can stack so much ice cream and not drop any of it."
Noct tilted his head. Curious if all of those flavors together really tasted good. It seemed like a bit much.
"Apostle huh? You sound a bit like Goodwin when he goes into his religious speeches."
He had called Noctis an Angel for most of his life. Kind of hard not to think of himself as one after all those years. Not to mention the lines Noct's memorized.
"Ice cream is absolutely a blessing though."
A long pause after devouring half the ice cream stack in one go. truly he can put it all in one bite, but the name triggered something close to a pause in Devack. After all, Goodwin is a very familiar name. One that would have triggered something more... but...
He clutches his head, in pain.

Wow, what an amazing slip up! For obvious reasons, crimson eyes needed to retraining immediate, humane wave of surprise that would betraying lightness into them --- considering understanding would be made, as the other side, he would have got it. Once, it merely has been assumptions of his part, for never witnessing so much admiration for previous cards, for having a real admiration towards apparent remnant of a past … and yet, himself didn’t expecting himself, inside that current time, to simply been summarizing as ‘famous first-generation duellist’. Sorry on that one, partner you isn’t going to remember anything, like the old times, in which weight of the future wouldn’t be pulled into your shoulders, not now, not for the moment. If Kaiba would someday reach that level, it was also expressing he would expanding Dual Monsters beyond of what he was currently doing, totally obsessed with just a game! A spoiler that merely awakening threatening amusement internally, as much he pretending to remaining emotionless on the other side, motionless. If revelations needed to be exposed indirectly towards Yugi, it was for the better he was the one welcoming it. Anyways, wasn’t the future something that can be allowed to change, wrapped into countless threads of decisions, another game on itself in which strings were merely different? Getting right sparked another dimension of interest, in which, as much he would wishing to drag his partner around, for the time being, it will be a lonely act. Something his friends would disapprove, but hadn’t he not choice?

Without the Kaiba Corp, Dual Monster would have been quite saddest about how it could have been, I grant him that. ❞ No mention was made about that previous amazing slip up. His customer was currently during a time when these famous first-generation duellists would be becoming the legends he knew of them, in which somewhere, he was immensely lucky. Picture that he had let him simply with a gentle observation, as he would be inclined to grant that request, as any other ---- although he was dealing with darkness of ignorance, something he truly disliked. Nevertheless, he cannot know other cards would be made, when Pegasus, initial creator, generated an amount of them and cost him many … Even within magic into his hands, it would be another exploration for later, even within consciousness he cannot pass clocks of time unless inside current circumstances. ❝ Let’s me see about that. ❞ There was gentleness without exposing clear reaction. Cute cards, he had spoken of, hm? As much he didn’t wanted exposing anything about his deck, he puled out an obligatory Celtic Guardian that could match that fairytale atmosphere, such as Elf’s Light, Fair’s Gift, Fairy Meteor Crush, Gift of the Mystical Elf, Happy Lover, Kuriboh, Lady of Faith, Mystical Elf, Shining Friendship, Ancient Elf, Chorus of Sanctuary, Dreamsprite, Dunames Dark Witch … searching for more cards to add. ❝ Grab you some. There is from many types, and knowing how you prefer using monsters, I’m looking for what could match best with your way of duel! ❞ Although, cards used by his friends and himself remained almost nowhere to be seen excepted an matched Kuriboh.
Cards such as celtic guardian were cute in their own way. but also something that would protect the heart of people until they die. Loyal guardians who he knows, deep in his heart would protect the real him and not this shell that had grown over his own heart. But the power of monsters cannot defeat the gods unless another god interferes, and there are plenty of gods in this generation that did absolutely nothing without the guide of humans.
Why did the gods limit themselves to humanity mistakes. A small wonder since he knew the power first hand if a god is summoned throughout the playing field. Why were gods so restricted now? Obelisk the tormentor, Silfer the sky dragon and the dreaded winged dragon of Ra who's effects were so demented that not many decks would actually field it.
The gods were impractical and something only a precise deck could hold, making them all but useless on a professional playing field. So why did gods restrict themselves to their medium. Was duel monsters really something that ancient themselves, or...the honest answer might be that gods were bored every time they were on the field.
"Ah these cards... they remind me of how rare cards with no effects have gotten."
He holds a celtic guardian.
"In my...town, cards like this were as people say, brick your decks. Because of how useless they were outside of one first duel. No support for its own type either...but it makes me nostalgic."

Not exactly a hobby Noctis was used to hearing about. But it did seem to bring Devack some joy. To each their own.
"I don't think that place would still be in business if a majority of people thought it tasted bad. Everyone has their own tastes."
Noct shrugged as he went to place his order. He was particularly fond of chocolate flavors.
"It could be a tourist trap."

As observing as he was, there was no particular reaction towards a human activity. It was most likely a simple conclusion, in which he decided to personally handle the problem … but compared to before in which he would let Yugi completely in the dark, once he would have more information, if whatever emergency, he would be explaining everything.
There was a playful laugh at the consideration of this place.

I would have loved grant you another Blue Ice White Dragon since it’s a rather interesting card, but there is another fan that want to keep them all --- and hm, he is pretty much attached to Dual Monsters more than he want to admit himself. ❞ He wasn’t going to spoke about his beloved cards of Magicians, since, as much he allowed himself to be more vocal than last time, best he avoided to create indirect disasters … because, in one way or another, he would be ending up been the one to clean them up. There were no comments about his dark cloak, no comments about his tattoos. Wasn’t he immaterial proof conclusion shouldn't be made on an cover?
"A fan of blue eyes...you mean that famous first generation duelist ...what was his name...."
Seto Kaiba is a legend for those who actually have a interest in dueling, even he knew of it. But with all the compiled stress he had with going everywhere to get the proper materials for the next big ritual, it was something that allowed him the chance to say simple words.
"Forgot his name, but I'll take your word for it. Though Blue Eyes is a pretty beat down kind of deck, it would be easy to learn if...one was rich enough."
True the blue eyes were almost common when Seto Kaiba died , when Mokuba Seto died as well. Insultingly commmon , but that was for another time.
"I was thinking of a deck full of...cute cards. Something that would fit the design of a card name Ancient Fairy Dragon."
He brings out a card , no not a card. A picture, its the picture of a card name Ancient Fairy Dragon. Its design alluring and different from other dragons.
"You think you can find cards that can match a faery? I don't have the card on me, since its very important but ..."
He's holding fairy dragon hostage in the original time line, not yet at the point where its true holder is awakened yet.
It was his partner, that usually, spending his whole time in control when they were inside his grandfather’s shop. There was no particular reason he would need to interfering, considering there will be low possibilities an issue happened. Or, assuming it did, it would need soon enough of their mutual friends for avoiding crimson eyes showing how unkind he would be, ready to making pay anyone wanted causing harm to his partner. Nevertheless, it seemed one automatism would come from the latter when it was concerning one person. Previous embarrassment and impossibility to handle the situation had returned by the moment a familiar presence showed himself at the door, in which he could easily recognizing him. Ah, that customer that wanted to buy very rare cards! Ah, that customer that had loyalty towards someone, in which he sensed some density of darkness among it --- but decided to be kind, deciding to embracing whatever spoilers for be blessed one to receiving it! He couldn’t really picture how many times it has been for the customer in question. For him, it seemed far away … and dramatically recent. These memories also awakening as fresh as the first day when he sensed a wave of amusement born inside of him was something he deeply appreciated. ❝ Oh, it’s has been a long time I hadn’t see you. How are you being? Feeling alright? Not crushed by the weather? Wanting to seek another rare cards? ❞ Enthusiastic crimson eyes welcomed him without hesitation.
Ice cream is finished in record time, the strawberry milk flavor dropping inside his throat and straight to his stomach. Very little to say, save for that he had brought some more money to see if the old cards would be enough to appease his lord when he comes back via the underworld. time travel cares not if your dead or not, just that you are aware of the consequences of your actions.
"...Its funny, I keep coming back here. Perhaps I find comfort here?"
He diligantly throws the ice cream stick into the trash and heads inside the store. his eyes looking at the different stock for a while.
"Do you have any new stock? I was thinking of trying some new....decks."
Despite very much looking like a cultist, he is someone who is very comfortable around normal people in that he does not recognize himslef looking like a cultist at all. Despite his dark cloak and shady tattoos on his face.
He couldn't say that he was fond of the trailing off during sentences. The more Devack spoke? The more off he seemed. Perhaps Noctis should be taking this a bit more seriously.
"Dear stars." He sighed. "I didn't mean royal by blood. It's my duel title. Well, technically I defeated Jack but I am rather fond of my title. So I keep it as prince." The mechanic shrugged. "Shadows?" That simply confirmed Noct's suspicions of demonic aura.
"Hm. I am indeed guided by a God myself. My fate is intertwined with a chosen few. Quite the honor really."
He said calmly. No sooner than Devack mentioned earthbound gods, that Noctis glanced at his left arm. A burning sensation catching his attention. Alongside of Stardust Dragon growling at the man. Clearly she didn't trust him one bit.
"Easy girl. He said he didn't want to fight. Not today." Noctis returned his focus to Devack. "Call me Noctis. It's a nickname I've been called since childhood. Even after the Director took me in. Hm. I think my twin mentioned something about these, earthbound immortals." He muttered. "Ah. But I don't give out my true name lightly. So you'll just have to stick to the other one for now."
"Wait what?" Yup. Just as Noct thought. Devack was one hell of an oddball. "Can't say I meet dimension travelers often. I thought it was some cosmic law not to say such things out loud. But... Whatever. There's an ice cream stand over there." It couldn't hurt to get a frozen treat for now. "So... Do you have... Any hobbies?" He had to attempt something of a normal conversation. Even if Noct wouldn't be forgetting this strange meeting.
"Hmmm... I try to eat as much ice cream as I can within each dimension. Even in this city, there is always something different per dimension."
He nods to himself, as if eating ice cream was serious business every time he goes out and use the underworld as his personal airplane to other planes of existence.
"The last dimension had ice cream called dip and dots in neo sattelite city. It was horrible and tasted dry."
"Ice cream is constant in all dimensions I go. Duel monsters is not, some dimensions even have odder ways to summon monsters."
A sigh.
"Ice cream sandwhiches...blue eyes tea....so much to try before leaving."
His royal blue eyes narrowed upon seeing the other. Noctis may not have been what Devack assumed however. Not entirely at least. He didn't have a criminal mark for example. Instead there was an amethyst colored birth mark. A chuckle left Noct's lips.
"Nothing is impossible, stranger. The Director did not want me to leave the city. And yet... Here I am."
He moved a hand through his hair. Keeping Devack in view. Noctis was not one to lower his guard. Especially with strangers.
"Gods hm? You don't strike me as a fellow angel. Perhaps a demon instead? Well even angels and demons can't be in combat all the time."
The Prince shrugged. Noct wasn't quite the Yusei most others may have known in other dimensions. Considering who raised him and where. Even though he was still a mirror in some ways.
"Maybe we'll duel another time then. A Prince needs to keep his skills sharp after all. Until then... What name should I call you, hm?"
His one enemy is the fairy dragon wielder. the one with the most connections to the world of duel monsters. Much like him, only one on each side could effect the other gravely. and this is a war where no one can afford to lose.
"...A prince, the shadows of the underworld has truly led me to odd places. But ... I am Devack, though I suppose ..."
He trails in half finish sentences. annoyingly enough.
"My god is no demon."
"they are just , earthbound and connected to the life of this planet, surely not any lesser then whatever being you believe holds the heavens. For what would heaven be without earth, a floating kingdom of nothing."
He shakes his head angrily.
"That's enough, that enough Devack... you fall to easily to everything... the lord told you this before..."

"I'm going to try another dimension ... but perhaps ice cream first."

The first generation of duel masters were nothing to scoff at, but sometimes he wonders how they survive with so little mechanics involved...well Devack isn't a duelist by trade so it would be hard for him to understand much of the duel monsters mechanics to begin with.
in any case...
Another dose of time travel, another dose of sitting beside the game shop. Wearing his all black coat and making sure that that he doesn't over heat himself by eating ice cream.
Its a miracle it didn't occur to him to simply change to lighter clohtes.
"I admit, encountering you is far from ideal. In fact almost impossible because I did not desire it. But I suppose even those who follow the strongest of gods do not get a say on what to do in their free time."

Of course, Being himself, he could not sense what was different. Though he hardly knew who this man was outside of being a bearer of opposition to his own master goal...he assumes.
Devack rarely listens to the more complicated details out there.
