After relying on convenience items (which have been an absolute life-saver), we are back to whole foods, shopping in the produce section at wally world again bc they have the best fruits/veg for price in our area, and using glassware (as opposed to paper ware😂). idk, y’all, I’m feeling human again.

💇🏼‍♀️Hair: Cut curtain bangs. They turned out fine and I love it better than not having bangs. ✅

💄Makeup: tinted brow gel, mascara, blush/lip. I actually haven’t worn makeup for ten years bc last time i did from age 15-24, I never, and I mean Never, washed my makeup off and my skin was so inflamed and red it took this long to heal. Wash your face, kids.

👖Jeans: Haven’t bought or worn jeans in probably 10 or more years. So going to try to find a good pair of high rise, straight jeans. My 15-year-old-self could never😂

The way I had to use every ounce of self control I had in me when she decided to announce, with a blood-curdling scream whilst I was getting on the highway, that her baby sister starting to cry in the car is “too loud,” should be considered an olympic sport.

We also managed to collect a few items on our adventure😂 Not complaining bc one of the items is a loaf of chocolate bread.

But one of the kids got sick, so

-Mirror that I’ll make with acrylic mirror squares and some kind of backing so I can tape to the wall.

-New Plates (Daiso). I bought the cheap-y Target plates with dividers and they are just okay, I really want to make meals fun and exciting for her and I just feel like she needs and upgrade.

-A Bento Box (Also Daiso). This is mainly for her snacks so that she can practice using it for when she starts her school.

-New/Better Quality safety/learning scissors.

-Dress up stuff, skirts, hats, belt, button-y things, etc.

-Light for her play kitchen

-Calendar so we can’t start doing daily calendar time.

Target over here being like: “Get $20 when you spend $100+ on baby goods!”

I got the girls in the car and attempted to go the 56 min drive down.

K did realllly good for about 10 mins and then she started whining, then crying. Pulled over, nursed, changed diaper, got back to it, immediate crying. Rinse and repeat twice more and I was still 47 mins out.

Got in the car at 9:17 and it was 10:28 when I called my mom telling her we were not going to show up as I was circling back to a nearby library, baby K hysterical in the back and all.

My mom was like “oh, she isn’t happy!”😂 I’m like, yeah, I’m not making up that a 56 min drive feels hella impossible given current circumstances.

But at least I made an effort.

S: “No, I don’t want mama, I only want papa.”

I have a lot of feelings about it.

But, compared to the “free” version,

the Japanese language mommy group that i found on fb.. was getting cliquey (like people straight up ignoring me🙄 looottsss of religious people which I’m fine with but they don’t usually like nonbelievers lol) and I’m wanting to create solid friendships at this point while also getting S exposed to school.

They are only letting 8 people/families sign up for this class and we were able to get in so I’m really excited.

The teacher in charge of the ESL portion is awesome. I had a chance to talk to her quite a bit last December during an open house they hosted. She is maybe 10 years old than me and it’s like talking to a 10year older version of myself but she is way more fun💛

This is also my top pick for a private school to send her. I had been dreaming of sending her to part-time preschool and we didn’t really have any Japanese options until this year. it’s a pretty renowned school with possibility to transfer to a really prestigious university after graduation👩🏻‍🎓

I’m excited to start off as like a “family outing” this year and then get her properly enrolled next year once she turns 4. I think that’s the perfect age for her to start school📝

I have not even one time considered Wednesday and Thursday a proper “weekend”

Because I’ve been packing the shit out of those two days trying to socialize, clean, prep, shop, family time.

And I just realized that when I think of Sat/Sun, what is it that I used to normally do?

yeah.

It’s nothing. The answer is “nothing.”

So I haven’t had a designated day to do nothing by me (cuz the Universe WILL designate those days for me if I don’t) since two whole years ago?!
