A HAND MOVED TO COVER YOUR MOUTH so as not to let out a scream . rather , it was muffled and dulled down by it . claude had picked you up with ease , carrying you in a bridal-style fashion . you then moved your hand and proceeded to scoff . “ i can’t very well dance with you carrying me like this , claude . “

BEFORE YOU KNEW IT . you’d been swept off your feet . wounded and barely conscious after a long and grueling battle . your hair was tangled , stuck to your face from all of the disgusting sweat on your skin . eyes half-lidded , violet hues gazing at the professor . you forced yourself to stay awake . your chapped lips parted ever so slightly , yet only the soft murmur of the other’s name escapes you .

you sort of felt bad for not asking . your way of doing things was never truly something others would agree with . hardly anyone ( aside from hubert ) saw eye to eye with you . 

helena’s shouting could be heard from the other side of the hallway , as she is dragged by her father , whom you had no fondness of . you only cared for his daughter , the one who should , would one day serve the empire , serve you . this brought you joy , though your stoic expression would never tell . your emotions were in check , carefully hidden beneath your actions as a ruler , as a person .
