You guys wonāt believe this, neither would I an hour ago.
I got a tip that our show is filming at Silvercup Studio in Queens two hours ago when sitting in a drama book store on 42 St. I was hesitant since itās already Friday afternoon they probably will wrap up soon and I might be late again and itās in Queens. But there is one voice in my head saying āNo filming during weekends, you have to wait for three more days to have any opportunity to meet them again if you donā move your ass now. Go!ā Then the next thing is me arriving in Court Square after 20 minutes.
I saw trailers, equipment trucks and outdoor light setting across the neighbor. The production note said they will film from 3pm to 1am tomorrow. So Iām just in time! The actual filming hasnāt started yet, so I sat in a small park by the street where the trailers parked and wait. No one was around, I got bored in the cold wild Queens.
And here came Jim! Out from nowhere! Heās walking with two staff and his bodyguard towards me. I was so nervous so I turned to another direction and pretended I was some random traveler passing by. Guess Iām terrible at faking because I canāt stop peeping him. He must saw me being weird and he waved the V gesture and said Nihao (hello in Chinese) to me! I was speechless, I canāt evenā¦.
I donāt remember what happened next but suddenly we started talking. Heās so close to me and his eyes are like the most beautiful sapphire in the world. He asked me if I want a photo with him and we did it. Then I ask if I could walk with him to the exact filming location, his bodyguard said no but Jim immediately said yes!!! My heart must skip a bear on that, dear godā¦.
To my best memory, this is our conversation about during the longest two-block walk Iāve ever done.
1. Where are you from? Iām from China. Great, I have children from China. Thatās very nice of you.
2. How many children in your family? Only me, Iām the one-child policy generation.
3. Then there must be a lot of more boys than girls in China. Yes, itās like 117 boys:100 girls in China. Itās kind of hard for boys to find wives, marriage cost is very high for boys. Wow, thatās awful.
4. Jim made this cute sound when a little boy walking pass us with his mom after school. I donāt know how to describe it but my heart melted into pieces.
5. Where do you learn English? How can you speak it without accent? Thank you! I learn it from school and my previous bosses are all Americans.
6. We are so worried about the season finale, will Grace get hurt? No comment.
7. Do you have a Chinese name? I donāt think so. We call you Li Si in Chinese, the pronunciation is similar to Reese and it means John Doe in Chinese. Oh thatās very interesting.
8. What is the mission of your life? What do you want to achieve? (Jim are you kidding me? We just met for three minutes and you are asking me the most difficult question of my life? At first I thought heās joking but he looked very serious like Mr. Reese! I was choked. Eventually I told him Iām on my gap year, I quit my 100-working-hour per week investment bank job in Hong Kong last year. He didnāt say anything to it. Thank you Jim, for not being judgmental.)
Jim wasnāt smiling at all through the way but heās so tender and considerate. He leaned down when speaking to me because heās so tall (Iām 5ā3). His voice is so soft and I want to hear it forever T_T When we inevitably hit the entrance of the studio, I took another two pictures with his permission. He waved me goodbye then gone. I wanted to stay longer on the street, maybe to catch some outdoor scene later (they are filming through midnight) but it felt like stalking. Iāve so lucky and heās given me far more than enough, I really should get going.
One last confession, when Jim commented Chinese boys must be hard to find girls to marry, I was internally screaming āWill you marry me, Mr. Reese?ā Facepalmā¦.my life is totally ruined.
